Dari and his trusty beast Kobi are a melee tank duo with the ability to dish out crowd control effects and take down single targets with style.

Dari uses a spear for basic attacks, and uses his mount Kobi and his sling to dish out damage with his abilities.

Backstory

Dari is a young energetic tribal prince from the Plague Jungles. His tribe has mastered the art of beast riding, and he and his loyal steed Kobi are making their way to the League of Legends to prove to Dari’s father that he has the strength, courage, and ability to one day be the Chieftain of his tribe.

Kobi is a formidable beast, and his footsteps cause the terrain under him to tremble. Enemies walking in Kobi’s path will be slightly slowed, and large footprints will mark Kobi’s trail.

Kobi quickly lunges forward in a short range, gobbling up the first enemy he encounters. Gobbled enemies will stay in Kobi’s mouth for a brief time. Kobi has massively reduced movespeed when an enemy is Gobbled.

Re-activating Gobble causes Kobi to chomp down on the Gobbled enemy, dealing damage. If the enemy is not killed by the bite, they are released in front of Kobi.

Each enemy that is killed by Gobble permanently increases Dari’s maximum health by a low amount.

Dari uses his sling to hurl rocks at his enemies, which deal damage upon impact. Slinging a stone consumes a stack of Tribal Sling. Tribal Sling cannot store more than 5 stacks at a time.

Dari gains charges for Tribal Sling when he moves a moderate distance.

When an enemy gets hit three times consecutively from Tribal Sling, they are stunned.

Kobi spits a big lougey onto the battlefield, slowing and reducing armour on enemies that it strikes. The loogie stays on the field for a brief time.

If an enemy is currently Gobbled, Kobi spits them instead. Any enemies struck by the spat enemy will be stunned briefly and take bonus damage, and the spat enemy will be slowed.

Kobi grips into the ground for a brief time, then explodes forward in a line, pushing aside everything in his way. He stops by slamming his head into the ground, which stuns and damages any enemies in a small area around him and causes Kobi to take some damage.

Beast Rush creates a terrain wall along Kobi’s movement path as he moves, and the wall crumbles quickly.

If Beast Rush is interrupted while Kobi is gripping into the ground, it is cancelled.

Combos

That didn’t taste right - Q - E - R - Gobble up a minion and spit them at your lane opponent - when the minion lands his stun, follow up with your Beast Rush to keep the CC chain strong to take down your opponent.

Dodge this! - E - W - Q - By slowing your enemy with E, it will give you an easier time landing 3 consecutive sling shots. Once the enemy is stunned, you can get in close to Q for the kill.

I think it's a great design, but like others have commented the kit seems slightly overloaded with cc. I think a healthy change would be to make gobble a heavy slow/lunge on first target hit (like he chomps down on the enemy), and then add the additional interaction with the e to create the same slow but ranged using minions/jungle creeps. then instead of making his e a ranged spit up/AOE slow you make it shorter range (like directly in front of him) unless it's used in combination with his q, so the abilities have to be used together for their true potential, and also forces him to make a meaningful decision between engaging at a range to chase foes down or using his abilities in combination for a massive initiation.

The new combos could be something like

R>E>Q - this would be a big initiation where the dino charges in, displacing the enemy team, lays his aoe slow down around himself (bc he has no minion in mouth), then singles out a target for damage/focus with his gobble

Another, more ranged combo would be

Qminion>E>W - this would be more of your long range initiate/harass/chase combo. You gobble the minion, toss it at the enemy, and while they're slowed, ping them off with your W

EDIT: Just thought of another combo, which would be a Qminion>E>R where you slow the enemy team from a distance, giving you an opening to engage using ultimate. Idk just riffing here.

Overall though I think your design reflects a lot of what makes top lane champions strong in this meta. Your champ seems like it offers a lot of lane harass, and great teamfighting potential.

EDIT2: I think it's also important to propose the idea that the q would be on a medium cooldown (8sec?) while the E would be on a much longer cooldown (12+) so that the slow/QE coimbo wouldn't be too abusive

I have 3 questions. 1, Can anyone be gobbled up? Or is it only minions. 2, What is the cooldown on his Sling, You say it has to be 3 consecutive hits so I assume its short. 3, How big are the walls on his ult.

Anyway this champ... Its cool, but his ult, eq, and health scaling are incredibly similar to Sion.

Very interesting, but the q is pretty op. It's like a skarner ult thats on a low cooldown and has more utility and damage. If you changed it so it only works on jungle monsters and minions, it would work better. Also the e shouldn't stun. It's a bit op having two stuns on low cooldown that can combo with an extra huge amount of slows. The e could maybe when an enemy is eaten, have increased range, but be a thin skillshot and the enemies hit are slowed. (Assuming the regular e is a circular slow area like singed's slow)

His q is basicaly a better version of cho'gath's ult, maybe ultering its effect slightly or reducing the damage from it drasticaly will make this a little more balanced ( or remove scalings) of course i dont know the champion like you do so i couldnt say for sure

Thanks to the red post Kay'Ohe got and that thread's resulting massive popularity, any concept you post now is going to get a disproportionately large amount of attention.

The number of interesting concepts I've seen wilt and die is saddening, and there's no real way to get attention on a champ concept unless you get a red comment.


That said, I have no qualms about your ideas. They're certainly fine concepts, but that's par the course for this board.

I want to reword what I posted real quick, because looking back at it, it didn't come across the way I intended it to.

What I'm trying to say is that I wish more concepts could get this kind of attention, but it just doesn't happen often enough compared to how many good ideas I've seen. Especially ones that are extremely fleshed out. I've been around the champ concept forums for quite some time, though I don't post as much lately, so I've seen many a concept in my time. Most of them just kinda vanish with little comment, or get enough comments to be counted on one hand.

I just want to see more ideas that actually get more than a handful of comments.


Having said this, I'll offer some actual critique so my post doesn't come across so brashly this time.

Q: Can champions be Gobbled, or just minions/monsters? Personally, I think the way it should work is that, if a champion is targeted by the skill, Kobe just chomps on them for immediate damage. Keep the Gobble functionality for minions/monsters, though, but holding champions captive with a normal ability seems excessive. (Unless it already works this way. The description is rather vague on who/what it can affect.)

W: Looks fine on paper, but could probably use some kind of synergy with the rest of his kit. Maybe let the slung stones be eligible targets for Gobble, so Kobe can spit them with E. (Bringing to mind the older Spyro games where you could use rocks as projectiles.)

E: This ability is rather reminiscent of Kog'Maw in general, I think, like a combination of his Q and E. Unless for some reason Kobe is an acid-spitting dinosaur, I think the armor shred should be moved to the ability's second component, being applied if Kobe strikes an enemy with a Gobbled projectile.

R: This is most certainly way too similar to Sion's ult. I'm not sure offhand how to convey the idea of a charging dinosaur without it being similar to Sion's ult, though, so I'll give it a pass for the time being.

I only see one flaw and thats the q passive "Each enemy that is killed by Gobble permanently increases Dari’s maximum health by a low amount. I seriously dont want more infinitly stacking abilities. They are so hard to balance if not impossible and usualy bring down the rest of the champion if they wanna keep it. I mean nasus nad veigar are good examples of champions that are unhealthy. Just give it something else.e Otherwise a seemingly fun champ.

I do enjoy the concept, but I have just a few criticisms. For starters, while this is a good champion concept that I enjoy, the role of "person fighting on a war mount" already belongs to Sejuani. While you could argue that there could be more than one beast rider, Sejuani would lose a bit with what makes her special, and Riot doesn't really like that. My second complaint is his Q, Gobble. You don't really give enough information on it. What would he gobble? If he could hold champions that would make him overpowered, allowing him to sit and wait for his team to get there. Perhaps he could be made into a jungler, by adding bonus damage on jungle monsters. (Just a suggestion) On another note, his E, Corrosive Spit, could have some issues as well. If the aforementioned issues with Gobble were to be removed, then this issue would all but cease to exist. However, if the issues with Gobble were not addressed, this could be an problem. How far would he spit the enemy away? If my idea is taken, and only minions and monsters could be gobbled, then why is the slow necessary? Also, regarding his Tribal Sling ability, a time limit on how long the stun can be activated for would be a necessity, and a cap would be needed to be put on the time between each sling shot, (no pun intended) as rapid fire shots would be too powerful to come up against. Perhaps more damage per shot, but the ability is a skillshot. Now, don't get me wrong, this is all constructive criticism (to me at least) and I'm not saying my champion designs are any better, nor have any of them made the front page. If you could, I would like you to respond to this post and tell me what you think. Thanks.

I feel like you tried to make this kit balanced, but you actually nerfed it. I feel the kit should be like a mix of Quinn and Nidalee . Dari should be a ranged top champion or a support champion who sucks early game but if very strong mid-late game. Keep the W and give him some poke on his new Q. His E should be an escape/engage, you'll see why later. His ultimate should be where he can call in Kobi, riding on him for however long. Kobi becomes a tanky melee champion that does hard CC damage. Change Q a little to be less OP, and keep the E and make Kobi throw something heavier (like Mega Gnar). Kobi's ult work's like Malphite and Sion 's ult. You click where you want to go (long radius, but not super long.) Kobi charges to this location, working like your ult, knocking things out of the way as he hits them. When Kobi reaches his location, he pounds the ground, knocking up all enemies in the radius and switching back to Dari (that's why you might need the escape, as any enemies in the location you are at will be knocked up, allowing a safe retreat with the escape.) I like the champion concept, but I feel like it could use just a little work. Hope you take at least a few of my ideas into consideration!

so do they have separated health bar or is Kobi the champ :3 cuz ult lists "causes Kobi to take some damage" o: I think 3 stuns in a kit is way too much x: and his (?) passive is bit hard to take advantage of when your ahead or not running away :c but nonetheless nice ideas you have :3
