(Eventual) Singed Rework Ideas

Singed is a cool champion, one of my favourites to play actually, but his kit is a little clunky and not as instantly satisfying as a lot of the new champions. Obviously, being one of the oldest champions in the game, his kit is very old. His ult, what is supposed to be a champion's biggest weapon, is a self-stat buff, which is something that Riot has been trying to shy away from for a while now.

Don't get me wrong, stat buff ults aren't always bad, but they tend to have more of an impact or function differently. For example, Alistar; His ult causes him to take a reduced percentage of damage, making him a mega tank no matter what damage is coming towards him. It makes him feel like he has presence in a fight. When Singed ults, it's just, "Look at that spindly man go. He sure is kinda fast." He gets a slight buff in ap and ad, and gets a slight movement speed buff. Like, movement speed is nice on singed right now, one of his favourite stats, but the amount he gets from his ult is hardly anything to write home about.

So, with that said: Singed Ideas.

When I think about Singed, I think of his poison and his glue (and proxy farming). The two parts of his kit that line up with his lore most, they're very alchemical. I'd like to see future singed explore alchemy more, and the mixing of chemical reagents.

Passive - I'm not sure what to do with Singed's passive, primarily because I'm fairly happy with it as-is. Singed is a champion that WANTS builds mana and health, and this passive GIVES health for mana, making him a giant, tanky, never-running-out-of-mana beast.

Q - Poison Flask - Singed tosses a flask of poison, creating a medium-small-sized poison cloud. (maybe about as big as cass's q? maybe slightly bigger) These should be on a short cooldown; not short enough that he can just completely overwhelm his enemy, but still short enough that it feels like he's producing as much poison as his current Q. These should also be medium-short ranged, because being able to spam poison EVERYWHERE from a good distance away might be a little silly. I feel like this will alleviate singed's dependency of needing to be right on top of the enemy to do damage, while also maintaining his poison cloud-producing identity.

W - Glue Flask - Almost* exactly the same as Singed's current W, but in a flask, with a fancy glass shattering noise on impact. Now, you may be asking, why specify? Well, if you ask me, Singed's current W just isn't satisfying enough. When you activate it, you hear a kinda muffled glue spilling noise, and then there's glue. It doesn't feel like you're doing a lot. I feel like the sudden, sharp, high-pitched sound of the glass of the flask shattering will make him feel like he actually did something when he threw his W.

*Landing the glue directly on an enemy roots them, for as long as it would if you rooted them by flinging.

E - Oil Slick - Oil slick doesn't actually affect enemies, but buffs yourself and allies. As long as you (or allies) walk in it, you move faster. (because, you know... slipping on oil slick, makes u quick...) This should definitely be bigger than the glue area, if it doesn't affect enemies.

R - Instant Foam? - A long-range spell, Singed throws a cast of instant foam solution. When the cask breaks, a BIG area (bigger than amumu ult area) is near-instantly covered in instant hardening foam as it expands outward from the point of contact, rooting (but not stunning) allies and enemies. I'm not completely sold on this ability, but i felt like it'd be fun and unique, and would be and interesting mechanic.

NOW, for the interesting part: Alchemy. Singed's primary abilities mix, creating new (or overlapping) effects.

Poison + Glue = Lingering Poison. Like Old cass field. It would reset the poison timer as long as you're inside, and would also slow for a short time after you left the field.

Poison + Oil = Fire field. Still speeds up allies, but burns enemies standing in the field. Fire should probably go out after a second or so.

Glue + Oil = Small Explosion. Knocks back enemies in the same fashion as the Ziggs W (the little bomb satchel thing). Depending on the edge you're standing on, it'll knock you in the corresponding direction.

And, you can only mix 2 at a time. Lingering Poison Lasts as long as the glue would, and the Explosion consumes both the glue and the oil, but since the fire would go out, you can choose to poison it again for more fire, or blow it up with an explosion.

Of course, I'm no Rioter, and I haven't designed games myself, but these are just ideas on how to give one of my favourite champions more character, and make him more unique. I'd love comments and critiques if you have them, and please give this an upvote if you liked my ideas. Thanks for reading!

When Riot reworks a champion, they try and preserve how it feels to play as that champion and this is not Singed. Singed is a fast tank that you do not want to chase, that's his thing, nothing else matters as long as being fast and a tank you don't want to chase, stays in tact.
