For those that pay attention to this forum quite often, you might have seen an older post of my very first champion concept, Dane. I have been working on this champion concept that I think would be unique to the rift, a champion that has been hunted by demons and paranormal enemies, and has gained a range of demon-like powers through his struggles. Dane vowed himself rather being corrupted by his new powers, he would use them to nullify magic, and kill the kind that has tortured him for so long, and save the rest of the world from what he has been through. I thought of the idea for Dane, based off the old literature character, "Beowulf." Beowulf, if you don't know, is a swordsman that is hired by a kingdom to hunt and kill specified monsters and demons, in exchange for a prize, and eventually, a legacy. With this novel character sort of intriguing Dane's lore, I took aspects from "The Witcher" to construct his kit and his abilities, along with splicing my own ideas in each of them along the way. This sort of witch hunting/demon killing champion has slightly been done before when looking at champions like Lucian and Vayne, but I feel like they are a modern version of what they were suppose to be. So what if we introduced a champion, that at his core, is very closely related to old timey monster/demon hunters, and uses his own will and strength to create his own power in battle...

I've created roughly a dozen Champion Concepts, and none of them have really held a place in my heart as much as Dane, and in fact, this is my third attempt at "making" him... At first he was "Dane, The Sun-Sword Bearer," and then eventually he was "Dane, The Sword Of The Sun," but I've moved away from making his main attribute his sword, and more so his ability to manipulate magic using his own magic. I've kept the things about his kit that I liked (His Passive and Q ability), and completely rearranged his lore. Rather Dane being a knight that is abandoned on the Shadow Isle, fighting demons in hopes of finding a way out, his lore now takes place after that event, where he is centered in the middle of Valoran, near Noxus, hunting and killing demons, in his expense of saving the rest of the world from their magic. His champion kit now plays a lot more heavily around defying the magic of enemies, and using their spells to his advantage, as well as weakening them, on top of having a great gap closing combination in some of his abilities, making him a true demon hunter. I think this sort of magic breaking or magic nullifying aspect is something we really need in the upcoming season, as magic damage seems to be taking over the meta rapidly, and spell shields/MR are just not cutting it.

Let me know below if you guys would like to see me work more on this champion in the future. I have his lore in the works right now, and I will reveal that he has ties with a champion that is already in the game, but more so with someone she is related too. This forum post will strictly focus on Dane's kit and play-style, and I will upload a part two in the future, with Dane's Lore, as well as his origin story of him in the Shadow Isle.

I've never been good a constructing the base stats for any of my concepts, but feel free to add on.

Dane's Passive Ability will be “Extrasensory Metal” - When Dane is struck by two spells in rapid succession, he gains a burst of +35 movement speed for 1.5 seconds, and ignores unit collision for .75 seconds. Extrasensory Metal can be activated again within 3 seconds after being activated, otherwise, this passive is put on a 12 second cool down. “The curses that bleed from your mouth, they will not shackle me…

Dane's Q Ability will be “Coarse” - Dane spins in his current position, slashing nearby enemies with his Sun-Sword, dealing 65/70/140/150/270 (+30% AD) physical damage. At the end of his spin, Dane will jab his blade in the direction of the cursor’s current position, dealing an additional 80/95/110/120/145 (+25% AD) physical damage to enemies hit. Upgrading this ability at 3 upgrades, and 5 upgrades, Dane will add an additional spin, moving forward slowly with each. At 3 upgrades, Dane will perform two spins that each deal 70 physical damage, and at 5 upgrades, he will deal 3 spins that each do 90 physical damage. During Dane’s second and third spin, he will move toward his cursor, before dealing his final jab. “I wander with sharp spirits, and an even sharper blade…

Dane's W Ability will be “Radiating Edge” -

Passive: Dane’s Sun-Sword is baked in flames that scorch enemies that are struck by his auto attacks and Coarse maneuvers, scorching them with Infusion.

Active: Dane launches himself toward a targeted enemy, dealing 40/65/90/110/140 (+40% AD) physical damage. Radiating Edge triggers on hit effects, and if Dane critically strikes using this ability, or uses it on an enemy that is marked with Infusion, the cooldown is instantly refreshed, and will deal a bonus 20/25/30/45/60 (+10% AP) magic damage upon being used again, as well as having a slightly larger reach upon its next use within 3.5 seconds. “Valiance is the hope that bestows your magic, demon!..

Dane's E Ability will be “Interlude” - Dane coats himself in Infused spiritual energy, reducing the magic damage dealt to him for the next 3.5 seconds. Upon 3.5 seconds, or upon recasting of this ability, Dane will dispute back a force of magic that is equal to 80%/95%/115% of the magic damage dealt to him while charging up this spell. If Dane suffers fatal damage while channeling this ability, enemies near him will be dealt damage equal to 200% of the magic damage Dane took while channeling Interlude. Extrasensory Metal cannot be activated while channeling Interlude. “Someone should teach you how to use your magic, before you hurt yourself with it…

Dane's R/Ultimate Ability will be “The Nulling” - Dane uses the magic used against him to create his own limits of power. At the first upgrade of this ability, Dane will conjure a more power version of the spell that has been used most against him(can be an ally spell too). At the second upgrade of this ability, Dane will take the enemy spell that has dealt the most damage to him, and combine it with the first one. At the last upgrade, Dane will combine the first two spells with the spell that has dealt the most overall damage in the game, and have a concoction of a spell that is unique to his current match. Each spell visually looks the same, but the damage will be increased (+50% AD to all physical damage and +45% AP to all ability damage). Once Dane has combined spells, they will be cast in sequential order. Dane must recast this ability to use the next spell in the lineup, within 6.5 seconds. “None of my kind will go through what I have…

This is really neat, and one of my favorite champion concepts I've seen here! You should create some artwork for Dane!
