They should make a tank like taric only more suitable as a top lane/solo champion.
Specifically what I am refering to is his Q-aa-aa-Q-aa-aa-ect. Taric can be an abusive top lane troll pick to melee AD champs just because of his armor scaling and nonstop healing if he has the mana for it. He doesnt have much kill pressure but should such an opponent try to fight him he can just out sustian while he slowly but consistantly out trades them. His problem however is if they are a magic dmg opponent, ranged, or something a riven who can go in cc, dodge his E, do a bunch of dmg, and get out. As a matter of fact he isnt going to be very hard to deal with so long as you dodge his E and dont just let him pelt you with empowered autos over and over. On top of this is tarics cripplingly high mana costs cause his abilities are meant for two+ allies and enemies at a time and his attack speed/low base dmg makes farming with him without spamming abilities difficult while you are trying to deal with your opponent. However, so long as you can get a little armor, a bunch of mana, and can repeatedly auto your targets then taric can be hilariously effective, still a bad idea though.
The reason i think there should be a better suited solo tank for this is because it fufills the demands of two different top lane "factions" you see alot of. People who play tanks are upset cause they dont feel they are tanky enough, people the play vs tanks feel tanks are doing too much dmg. Tanks need dmg to clear and not get dominated by every other champion in lane, so in turn they cant be too tanky throughout the game or they would be innately superior to everything else in just raw stats.
My thinking to adapt tarics Q and passive combo to be better suited for top- Lower mana cost bigger or smaller heal based on missing hp only heals themself You dont get the heal when you pressed the ability but on the empowered auto(s) following on enemy champions. You get bonus dmg if it isnt healing you, so 100% of the time on minions or on champions if you are full HP when attacking, this dmg will be most of your potential dmg output.
This way you have wave clear and, so long as you can keep your hp topped off, some kill pressure... of course retianing that kill pressure wont necessarily be easy as you can only heal autoing champions after q(healig the least 90% plus hp) and you cant have any missing hp to get the bonus dmg on enemy champions. To make walking up and trading possible without forfieting that bonus dmg by taking an autos worth of dmg another ability could grant a small sheild along with some sort of soft CC like a slow and a little AOE dmg. Then a delayed hard CC on another ability for one or two targets, where instead of ccing the minion waves it is does more dmg to them instead to further assist their wave clear without needing to give the tank a bunch of dmg to champions. Lastly some sort of play making ult and then call it a champ.
Point being the heal taric could make for a very tanky champion where making sure you do some dmg to them matters in team fights as you dont want them to stay full hp and deal the heal as dmg instead. Or do people think meta Sions and urgots are better for the game?
