Went 5/0/1 to a Yasuo in bot lane with Siver, he went 0/3/0 and lost tons of farm and xp but...

Boatwhistle··65 votes·16,790 views

The moment he got PD he got a triple kill in one team fight doing tons of dmg during which. This was followed by snowballing and being the highest preforming member of his team by miles.

We still won but come on this is so bullshit riot, this is just normal yasuo doing what he does. You're told you need to abuse him in lane, counter pick him with a lane bully, did that. As always however, in anything lower then diamond(so the vast majority of games) Yasuo will become very powerful no matter what you do. He shouldn't even be in Bot lane, he is a mid laner but plays every position but support to the same effect of not being able to fail in the hands of someone even just a little competent in anything lower then Diamond.

Edit: I went back to my account and noticed its actually "Sivir" not "Siver". Only played her to put up with Yasuo and a Zed so I almost didn't notice.

So... I play Malzahar so I could care less about Yasuo (when I play Malzahar). But you are likely to have all kinds of people say "just play around him" or worse "get higher elo" But when you look at his games in higher elo, he still dominates. He has a 56+ percent ban rate over platinum and has an absurd win rate in multiple lanes against multiple champions. And he has been consistently strong for a very long time. Multiple dashes, skill negation, slightly moderate skill floor to play, ridiculous damage, strong early game, insane power spikes on most items, scales well, etc. Exactly what Riot wants in a champion: Someone that is only fun for people who specifically love playing him. He is a toxic champion that causes toxicity in the game.

And this is from someone with an extremely high winrate against him. I absolutely crush him in lane and in most games because I pick Malzahar whenever I see him picked and punish him for it. But I still hate how much they cater to him (and a few like him).

Yeah and this post will get as many dislikes as likes if at all because so many people that play Yasuo do it with the fantasy their come backs and/or snowballs are a result of them being so talented... not that his stupidly high scaling guarantees it unless you are an absolute moron. But no flash that mastery cause you can hit R when wukong ults and use that point n click dash with the point blank q "skill shot".

Oh, I agree. When I was new, I hated Yasuo like everyone else. And everyone told me he was sooo hard to use. Then I started maining mid and then Malzahar and learned he is a joke to Malzahar. Then decided to use him.... With a feeding bot lane and a top lane that said all of three sentences (all of which are very negative about everyone, haha), I was still able to wreck my enemy laner even early, getting First Blood and the second kill in the game during an early gank. And that was my first time on Yasuo. And he scales way better than his early game. My second game was garbage but I was randomly paired against someone much higher ranked than I who had over a thousand games on the champion they were using and the champion was a hard-counter.. Fun times. :D But the next two or three times (I have only used him like half a dozen or less?) at one item (and especially two), he just destroys the game without any semblance of skill or understanding how to play beyond general game knowledge. I am hardly impressed with him.

Lol that's a joke when malz players say that they could terrible Yas. They only counter until he buys quick silver sash, then they are mince meat. If Yas doesn't buy that item, then he's either new or just an idiot. Malz only counters Yas until that point. Yas can take on any opponent with the right itemization. The same luxury is not afforded his opposition because the outplay tools, armor pen, cc, mobility, double crit, etc, are in his hands

Nah. Just stop relying on your ulti as Malzahar. I do not need it to kill Yasuo. That includes high level, thousand+ game Yasuos.

Boatwhistle2 votes

The real bees knees with malz is probably his passive, silence, and mana sustain. A champion like yasuo can only be countered by stuff that would counter everything else in the game, things you cant get around. The voidings are also probably really good just cause he cant really ignore them and attack malz instead, that is unless he just E-Q's them with sufficient dmg to clear them out right.

Spicy Rice2 votes

And at what rank were you destroying with yasuo?

Not to rank shame or anything, but there's a reason that you rarely ever hear high elo players complain about yasuo

Boatwhistle3 votes

You don't hear high elo players complain about yasuo as much because there is way less people in high elo by comparison for starters. So the times in between you will see one complain are going to be way longer. It also has to do with the fact they are where they are cause they: -use what will work best -they play the game with way less mistakes however minute -they are better at dealing with the hard matchups/team comps to deal with cause that's all they see, they are in high elo after all.

Don't suggest high elo players don't get fed up with yasuo with their own frequency, they do. Apdo was known to hate on yasuo's ridiculousness all the time and he was one of the best in the world.

Spicy Rice1 votes

Yeah, Apdo also mained immobile mages like tf who got cucked by yasuo, so I don't really put to much stock in what he says.

And here's the thing, if they use what works best, and yasuo is so good, why aren't they all playing yasuo?

Boatwhistle8 votes

For one he is played and at time can even get big ban rates in high elo, that question is null. I cant tell you how many times I've seen Faker play yasuo and crush it, or how about that time Faker got crushed by a yasuo. He is also played in E sports to counter champions with really good projectiles, most notably gnars boomer range. Yeah apdo took issue with yasuo cause of what he is playing with very sound logic, he had absolutely no control of the game because of one champion. There are counters in the game for almost everything, but no counter typically makes a champion absolutely useless the way yasuo does to champions like TF, that's called broken and its amazing to me its never been addressed.

Enough of these typical defensive angle you boys in your group take everytime… it cant changed that what happened that match I had actually happened and happens frequently for yasuos like no other champion in the elos 95% of people play in. Being decent in high elo doesn't justify something being an abomination in low elo, in fact its usually the opposite where things that are good in high elo are trash in low elo.

edit: why is it too much to ask that when yasuo fails so hard he cant just get one item and become the best champion at around 15 minutes.

Except that is your reason for mentioning rank. However, Diamond Yasuo players. And based on the the high-level ban rate of him, the only reason we do not see complaints about him is he is banned in every game.

I didn't know that a 49-52% winrate was absurd.

Boatwhistle7 votes

XD LOL!!! how about 55% for people that main him for just 50 games or so. He has such a strong kit people can be forgiven for not knowing what they cant go in on thoughtlessly as he can do so to so many things. So it takes a little to recognize where and how far you can push him, given how strangely far you can push him compared to most other champions.

Frosted Tips2 votes

They didnt specify people that main him have a high winrate and also it is closer to 54% at 50 games and 55% at 100 games. He maybe a bit strong, but I would not call him toxic.

Boatwhistle2 votes

Most people that play 50-100 games on him are people that likely main or have mained him at some point. People don't just casually play yasuo a game or two every week over a couple years, cause most people either really hate him or really love him. Whatever you are looking at may not say it, but its common sense. Have you seen how obnoxious the mastery flashing yasuo is, he is on par with Zed mains in that regard. Only difference gameplay wise is with zed you are trying your best to postpone long enough he doesn't automatically kill carries cause nobody took an enchanter or tank suitable enough to stop him. Yasuo is way way worse cause your trying to end before he gets any stronger cause there is no way he are ending when he gets strong at 12 minutes.

Frosted Tips1 votes

See I disagree with practically everything you said right there. 1 many people occassionally play Yasuo or his average winrate would sit closer to those who main him instead of those who play him occasionally. Also I have had plenty of people that I play with only hate Yasuo because either he ints on your team or he gets fed off your trash team mates. They don't hate laning against or facing a non fed Yasuo. I also don't love or hate him. And lastly he doesn't become unstoppable late game. No champion does. Nasus and Veigar don't auto win after 30 minutes. Yes it may be harder to face them and it may be a struggle to win against them late game, but it is very common to.

Boatwhistle2 votes

You don't need to state disagreement its been evident and it just so happens to not influence my responses thusly... How do you define casually play cause I made it clear on my end of 1-2 games a weak? That means its would take 1-2 years to to get 100 games on the champion. I didn't hate playing against an inting yasuo either, my issue was how he become a super Saiyan with one item. I did say most* people either really love or really hate him, no I cant confirm this statistically, but its far more likely then any other champion. As wth the nasus and veigar the amount of time they take to reaching their power is way more reasonable, same goes for Azir. Also if you abuse them harshly then they wont be great that game period. These are not good comparisons to yasuo.

If you read my post you'd see winning and losing was never the focus, I am upset he became an issue despite how badly I abused him. Lets say it had been the other way around... yeah sivir would take at least three maybe even four items before she is even relevant again after such a bad start... but these are both crit ad carries and he became more thn just relevant, he became the most important member of his team and killing him was our win condition after he got just one item. The scaling, risk, and reward are extremely =/= for most champions facing yasuo and that is bullshit.

Frosted Tips1 votes

Wait just checked your game history. No one farmed well or even remotely reasonably. That game has no reflection on how a decently played game would have gone. There has to be much more importance put on the players to actually be decent at pushing advantages and actually farming for it to be reasonable to point out a game as statistics for these flawed viewpoint. If players in this game had any idea how to play the game Yasuo would not have gotten nearly as much gold/kilss as he ended with. Also Urgot did way more than Yasuo.

Boatwhistle2 votes

urgot did more in total cause he did very well in lane and coming out of it, might also have to do with us putting him lower on the priority list then yasuo, at least that's what I and zyra did since urgot wasn't an immediate issue for me. You are still dancing around the focus of the post severely. I am not a high elo or even a great player, I hover around silver and gold and if I play only thresh I will eventually end up facing platinum players, so even my best isn't good. Even where I am at no other champion comes back from being trash like yasuo always does. This is not hard to get, justify why yasuo should scale so obscenely well despite failing so hard... cause thats what I want to know, me and all the people that are really good players that happen to have felt the same way since before I knew what a moba was. He didn't get kills and start doing damage, he started doing damage and then got kills... this from being very behind, other champions don't do this.

Also just cause I am assuming by your cockiness you must be some diamond player or something, not everyone in high elo is unanimous, proof is high elo players hating yasuo.

I didn't know that a 49-52% winrate was absurd.

When you have a 56% ban rate and still have an 19% pick rate (meaning he is 75% pick/ban at post platinum play. Any other champion have that kind of pick/ban rate???) and still has a 53%, counting the bad players playing him, etc. Yeah, it really is absurd.

Oh and then you take into account how much that winrate goes up at 50 games.... and on and on with how much he is played.

Frosted Tips1 votes

Well again the winrate is 49-52% on all players plat+ in his predominant roles.

The second part may be a little too high because at 50 games he goes up to 54% and at 100 he goes to 55% so maybe a little high, but there are worse.

Lolalytics has Yasuo in Bot Lane (of all things) at 53.13% on average. Keep in mind, at 54% Riot randomly freaks out and nerfs people into the ground (except certain champions). And that is, again, with a massive ban rate, excessive pick rate, and that is average player. With the listed win percentage for players at Diamond rating and a minimum of 50 games on them, the win percentage is 59.10%. Diamond being higher than Platinum means it does not correlate to rank outplaying him since the winrate goes up.. When you look at some of the players in Challenger, some of them have a high 60s and even low 70s win %. Again, higher rank, higher win % against other people of equal rank.... Hmm...

150 or so farm at roughly 30 min is normal especially since both teams were equally tied for almost 20 min of the match.

Not to mention, CS has little to nothing to do with the subject matter at hand.

I consider this a distraction.

Frosted Tips4 votes

Hell no 150 cs at 30 min. is not normal. Even if there is a bunch of grouping and fighter it should still be closer to 200 at the very least. Really should be between 250-280

CS are not in a vacuum.

There were only 2 turrets down before 18 min, and that was 1 by each team. In other words, at best each team only had 1 lane to shove for the CS boost.

After more lanes were opened up, they spent most of their time hard contesting in fights over key objectives, and so less CS income.

And then the winning team won from a position of lagging team gold by 6.6k and only won because of backdoor beeline for the nexus which I think the leading team surrendered because of it or something.

Ofc a game like this has low CS count.

EDIT: Correct the cause of game end.

Frosted Tips1 votes

Regardless of how the game went down both teams and all players severely lack the general game knowledge to know when to group and when to farm so expecting them to shut down a Yasuo who thrives against mediocrity is absurd.

https://lolalytics.com/ranked/worldwide/platinum/plus/champion/Yasuo/graphs/

Yasuo isn't just strong in low elo. There is a reason he's also high picked and extremely banned in high elo all the same with little to no shift from the low elo pick rate and ban rate. And Yasuo also sports high win rate in high elo (especially for his high play rate), too, just not as extreme as low elo but nonetheless still high. The fact he still gets around 50% average win rate even in high elo where he is claimed to suck in, that also comes despite his big player base that should dilute and drag down the win rate, and that more than half and approaching 2/3 of the players regardless of division/league hates him enough to ban him, should be enough indication of the problems of Yasuo.

All of this points to that Yasuo is indeed a problem, and this is thus NOT a thread about how low elo being bad or whatever.

Boatwhistle2 votes

the yasuo was just as bad at the game as me, he didn't get the 10 cs a minute people aspire to... how ever relative this champion still does this. Its proportionate you see... bumping up everyones cs wouldn't somehow make him scale worse. Also in my defense I really do my best to get more cs but at my elo people fight way more then they need to and if you aren't close by when somone over extends for no reason every 3 minutes then you are asking to lose... its a different game in low platinum down games I have only ever played bud.

Frosted Tips1 votes

If in a game the general player has no clue how to farm even semi efficiently than why would I expect them to know how to layer CC and actually focus properly in a game. Yasuo thrives against players that are in general worse so of course he came back. Also come backs happen more often in lower level play than higher level play.

Boatwhistle2 votes

Every champion will comeback if mistakes are made and punished... duh. Difference is Yasuo punishes mistakes much harder then others and is rewarded way more. Again you dance around how he up and does good damage from behind despite being behind over just one item.

I wont let you drown out simple pure logic just cause I am guessing you're some hot shot diamond player cause I know other high elo players agree with me... you can drop this shame tactic already, his scaling will be proportionate with improved gameplay, its simple math.

Glaricion1 votes

TBF, Riot did all in their power from S2 to the middle of S8 to ensure bot's how it is, so Boat's feeling of entitlement only makes sense.

I mean, they severely twisted support champion kits and items, discouraged supports for top or jungle, quashed roaming, refuse to add any turn rate to ranged champions, phased out the experiment w/ Heimer for abilities to damage turrets (Ziggs exception that proves the rule), try to have rADCs good at too many things at once, discourages supports leaving their partner via the 'quest' system for wards, etc..

Boatwhistle2 votes

I only just started playing marksman... before that I was trying on mid lane and when I started the game I was a support main? I started playing right when they added the new runes system... Over my progression in this game I have gotten way better at a dealing with the champs that are harder to play against however my hatred for yasuo goes unabated as, again, he doesn't fail like other champions. You can make every other champion irrelevant until late game if you beat them up in lane hard enough but not yasuo, he bounces back from behind with his first item and can do so again with his second, and that is what is BS.

So many posts hating yasuo. If riot doesn't nerf him then they've gotta be ignoring the community at this point. His q damage is so over stat with his 0 cooldowns and no energy/mana. He scales FAR too fast being strong at all stages of the game and can still beat people who are suppose to counter him. they need to give him some sorta RESOURCE BAR LIKE ALL THE OTHER CHAMPIONS WHO ACTUALLY HAVE LIMITS then make his cooldowns longer SO HE DOESN'T GET AWAY WITH ABILITY SPAM BEING LIMITLESS DOING 500 PER Q POKE IN LANE make his e have i dunno. A COOLDOWN LIKE OTHER MORE BALANCED CHAMPIONS and his windwall HAVE MORE COUNTER PLAY. THEN MAKE HIS R COOLDOWN LONGER.
