People should stop sticking to the idea that the skin has to fit the champ's theme. If you look at the current skins, almost none of them do. They're alternate versions of the champ and are definitely not canon. They don't "exist" in Runeterra. They can, however, have interactions with eachother (like the maffia skin line).
Nautilus being an astronaut doesn't make much sense. But it's a good pun and made for a great skin.
