New Class / Playstyle Type?
I wonder if there are any development projects working towards an AD, ranged auto attack based champion that is primarily a tank. Not the ranged off-tank/buiser-caster/AP champions we currently have like Graves or Gnar or Swain, respectively. I feel like it would be a completely new way to play out the game, as the stereotypical damage absorbers don't exactly have a need to use ranged auto attacks.
An idea I have for this type of champion is similar to how Thresh has three auto-attack animations depending on how far he is from the target. (Although Thresh is ranged, I would still consider his more of a caster type since his autos are not primarily focused on being used throughout a game.) This new champ could possible benefit from a passive that gradually increases their auto attack range with bonus hp, up to a certain cap, for example. And the abilities could utilize auto attack modifiers such as Kayle's E or Garen's Q. Or even have modifiers that negatively affect the auto attack in order to provide other benefits like increased resistances or tenacity.
I'm not sure how viable this would be design, gameplay, and execution wise but I find the concept intriguing. If you have any ideas or comments, please let me know.
