Play Button Always Grayed Out

In the past 4 days I've noticed that almost every time I log into the game I am unable to play because the 'Play' button is grayed out. I've tried relogging multiple times and usually takes anywhere from 5 - 10 tries before I'm able to click play. I've tried using alternate accounts and receive the same result. The client resolution settings also get reverted back to the smallest size a few times during the log in 'ritual' I have now. In addition to the log in problem, I get a grayed out play button after canceling a normal draft pick queue. http://imgur.com/a/Z60N9

  1. Go to control panel
  2. Change "view by" to "Small Icons"
  3. Open "Internet Options"
  4. Go to Advanced tab
  5. Click the Reset button (for IE settings) and click reset on the pop-up window 5.1 If that doesn't work try again but this time check the "Delete personal settings" box.

That worked for me!

I am having the same issue as well as if a friend invites me the notification pops as normal but there is no buttons for accept or cancel it just says please waititem 3070 item 3070item 3070item 3070

I am also having the same issue however I tried to reopen the League application then it required an update but I'm already up to date with the current patch (7.1). This has happened to me multiple times since Friday (Usually after a game).

nothing seems to fix it , my play button is still grayed out even after re opening a bunch of times and trying peoples suggestions... its getting real annoying how all these companies release unfinished products consistently because they are so greedy . Riot can you get something right before releasing it for once ? as you are the worst for this, every new champ is bugged a long with at least half your new skins . Make it right before you release something.

Same Issue, restart client and after a while it grays out, started happening since last patch as well.

This has happened to me as well. It will be available for a small period of time after restarting the client. The client also rolls back to previous updates after every restart. I now have the Christmas login screen again.

Same thing for me as well. I know that when I log in, immediately on login it's grey. Last night it was intermittent, and if I logged out & back in it would resolve itself.

Today, I gave the client a few minutes between logins and browsed around the client itself waiting for the play button to light up, but it remained greyed out.

Interesting to note as well, I was browsing skins, looking for chromas (I couldn't find them, BTW), and I noticed the skins said that they had "not been applied" yet. This was on all of my owned skins. I don't know if it's related, but it's something that's been happening lately as well.

Anyone else having these issues?

i have a similar problem, the button becomes gray after a while if i do nothing in the launcher for a few minutes

Every time I start a new game the play button is grey and I can't play the game it takes three to four minutes for the play button to come back

I've just been patient with the bug. It usually takes about 5 minutes before I'm able to press "Play". It would be nice if this is resolved asap because it isn't very convenient. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Hey, im having the same issue too since today, the odd part is that it first upgraded something first, didn't knew what it was since the upgrade bar had no letters, just the numbers below it, and the most recent patch was already installed.

gonna try to click on the repair button and see what happens

Thank you for reporting the issue. We're actively trying to get to the bottom of this bug but have not been able to reproduce it or get logs. It would be a huge help if you could send us your logs!

Steps

  1. Download the Hextech Tool: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/224826367-Automated-Troubleshooting-Hextech-Repair-Tool
  2. Install the tool.
  3. When you see the play button grey out in the client, proceed to step 4.
  4. Run the Hextech Tool and uncheck "Add firewall Exceptions (Enables firewall).
  5. Press "Start".
  6. Wait for the tool to finish collecting your logs. The tool will notify you that is has finished with a pop up saying "All Done".
  7. Go to your desktop and locate "LoL Logs"
  8. Send the "LoL Logs.zip" file to [email protected]

I don't know bout u but when i wanna log in it takes me up to 5 minutes when it says "authenticating" and then another 5 minutes for "loading". On the other hand except the grey button which is even in the lobby sometimes I can't start my games, sometimes I won't be able to accept because I won't receive any notification about "ur match is ready" and even when everything is great and cool I can't select or ban in champ select. So yeah... HELP ME PLOX.. item 3070 item 3070 item 3070 item 3070

Go to Network and Sharing Center > Local Area Connections > Properties > Internet protocol v4 > Select Use the following DNS server adresses and type 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 on boxes below. > Ok > Close.

I had to flush my dns:

Flush your DNS

Your system keeps a record of IP addresses and domain names for the servers you access. Sometimes it helps to clear old data from this cache and start fresh. It's extra important to try this if you've had any problems with your hard drive or if you have had a virus or malware infection on your PC.

NOTE: Complete these steps using an admin account. You will be typing prompts into the CMD console, so it is very important that you enter the commands exactly as shown.

The following steps are specific to PC users. Apple has instructions on resetting your DNS cache for Mac.

Windows 10

Hold down the Windows Key and press X.
Click Command Prompt (Admin).
When the command prompt opens, type ipconfig/flushdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Reboot your computer.
