Concept Idea

I was drinking water from one of my water bottles while I was strengthening my punches and noticed that as I drank more water, it was easier to swing with and hence I had to swing faster to make sure my training didn't diminish. This brought about an idea for a champion with a controllable resource (H2O, Steam for Steam-Powered Zekruul skin). The champion would start with 100 units, 100 max with 50 being the median where he doesn't gain or lose attack damage or attack speed. The more units of resource the champion currently has, the harder he hits but also attacks slower. As he uses up this resource, his attacks get softer but he can attack faster. Being near the store or near an allied tower that isn't being attacked restores his resource. This gives him a variety of ways to build and play. Now, this champion idea sounds more like a boxer or martial arts fighter, but I don't want him to seem like a Vi clone with a gimmick thrown in so going to try avoiding abilities similar to hers.

At 100 units, you gain 50% Attack Damage while losing 50% Attack Speed. For each unit lost, the Attack Damage and Attack Speed percentages change accordingly. At 50 units, you are evened out and are not gaining or suffering Attack Damage or Attack Speed. At 0 units, completely drained, you lose 50% Attack Damage but gain 50% Attack Speed.

One ability (Q - Named something like Sip, Drink, Chug) will consume 5 units of his resource and have something like a 1 second cooldown so players can choose where his resource is at even before going into a fight. I was thinking about a second effect to go with this like a minor heal (1%?) or a minor speed boost (5%?) since he would feel refreshed. It would hard to be abused if nominal builds required him to be here or there with his resource pool and since he could at max use this ability 20 times before being completely empty, he could only restore 20% of his max health assuming the ability is spammed during a fight. The only excepts

For the next ability, I wanted to think of a way to restore his resource without having to retreat if he is pushing forward but at the same time, I didn't want something that could be exploited if Q has a heal to it. What I decided on for his W is Second Wind, restoring 10 units at rank 1 and an additional 5 units with each extra rank ending with 30 units restored at max rank. To make it so this ability isn't overlooked in the long run, he also keeps the Attack Speed he had before the restoration for 8 seconds. Throw in say a minute cooldown and this ability should be solid.

Something I have considered is that with all this emphasis on Q possibly healing, I don't want players to just hang out all day with a full resource bar ready to spam it. So instead of gimping that side in some way, why not give some kind of proc effect that benefits those going the attack speed route? E is your passive called Jab, Jab, Hook or something like The One Two Punch where every third basic attack deals bonus damage equal to 20% of your current attack speed bonus and gaining an additional 20% each rank for a maximum of 100% at your 5th rank. So if you have 70% increased attack speed currently at your 1st rank, that third basic attack deals 14% extra damage but 70% extra damage at max rank. Keep in mind an empty resource bar gives you a lot of Attack Speed so you could actually have say 150% Attack Speed which at rank 1 for your E would give you a 30% damage bonus and a full 150% damage bonus at max rank.

Now for the ultimate, what I really wanted was an R called Beatdown and for this champion to tackle an enemy champion and suppress them while he autoattacks them with 50% increased Attack Damage and Attack Speed rather than whatever benefits you were currently getting from the resource bar but it is pretty much exactly what Warwick does for his ultimate. The problem I am having is that anything I can think for a boxer/martial artist though is already covered by other champions so I figure I could see what the community thinks would be a great ultimate for this champion. After all, who doesn't like contributing what they think to an idea? People who don't believe in that are welcome to join the internet whenever they like, lol.

So there's my idea, tell me what you think of him
