The Problem With the Boards

The boards have a glaring issue with them: whatever comes here, dies here. Nothing from these boards has ever became anything more than a post; Riot has never done anything with them, the fellow players see them for maybe a week then they're buried below more posts, and they ultimately will be forgotten by both. Even though this only applies to the Concepts & Creations boards, it is still rather saddening. I spent weeks creating a champion concept that I was quite proud of, I wrote him a lore, made him a kit, thought of his voiceovers and attempted (but failed) to draw him a splash art. When I was done, I wanted to him to be seen, so I could know whether he would've been loved or hated by the player-base. I figured the boards would be the best place to do this, so I posted him there. He was ignored; I later changed his kit up a bit and posted him again. Once again, he went unnoticed. After one final change, I created one last discussion. This one was seen, but only had two comments. After that I figured he was not meant to be, and gave up on him. I thought the flaw was in his design somewhere, and I didn't know how to fix it. I began reading through the boards to find that my champion wasn't the only one who was ignored; almost ever champion concept here seemed neglected. There were a lucky few who were seen, but that was like one out of twenty or so. I suppose there's really no way to fix this; Riot cannot legally use anything off the boards and nobody can force people to listen. It's likely a problem on every board, forum, etcetera; but its a shame to see people's ideas, hopes and creations all come to a board in hopes of recognition and find only neglect.

Jade Dragon Vi? Surprise Party Fiddle? Bard Bard? Lots of skins have been inspired by community creations to say the least. In addition, Riot would never say they took inspiration from a boards post even if they did.

In addition if you want to have concepts and creations be more active and developed its up to you. If you want people to comment on your posts then you need to comment on theirs. Not because they'll remember your name but because if everyone posted one comment a day of feedback the boards would go crazy with comments.

Finally, people don't post on the boards solely to have Riot make their idea. They might do it for fun, or to just talk, or for the CCOS, or to learn, or share their idea.

Try joining the Discord - they seem to give good advice and there's a nice community there.

Also the CCOS is a great place to go for feedback.
