A Champion Who Can Passively See The Invisible

No but seriously, I think that would be a pretty unique champion, an oracle of some sort. You can definitely see where they would excel, and who against. But if your passive only allows you to see invisible units (for the time being let's exclude wards and focus on invisible champs), that has some drawbacks against people who clearly don't go clear (pun intended).

I'm too lazy to come up with an actual champion concept, the last one I put work into never got noticed. But do you think this would be a cool champion idea? At least the passive? Or do you think it would be too OP?

Personally, I think it would be a bit pointless of a mechanic. Stealth isn't utilized very heavily in League compared to other MOBAs like Dota 2 for example. At most, you are just hard-countering stealth champions that rely on a very situational and gimmicky trick. If it was like Dota where the stealth champions really do have permanent invisibility or stealth that lasts upwards of one minute, it would seem more reasonable as a niche counter champion. It just doesn't seem like it has a place in League.

I feel like it's an interesting idea, but it might be too hard of a counter for some champions while being completely wasted against others...

It's like the same reason you would pick Lee vs champions that go invisible.

But Lee is far from useless when fighting champions without stealth. Also, you have to actually be aware that they're nearby before you can shoot them as Lee.

Not just shooting, his E reveals as well.

Oh... Didn't know that... Still... He has to know before hand that there's an invisible unit nearby (or at least suspect so or get really lucky) before he can see them.

I think a character who has the passive to see any character but not wards in a bush as a passive would be interesting. Say a big game hunter maybe Rengar teacher perhaps.

But realistically i think the items in used for the alternate maps for visibilty might be a better concrete option. item 3290 item 3185 item 3208 item 3187 They all offer stealth detecting fields and trap detection. Could easy be tuned for SR.

Traps i can see, but this would hard counter eve beyond anything in the game.

Also makes rengars ult worthless.

I can see it for twitch and teemo stealth though

Eve is probably the only thing it's worthless for. If it has normal Elixir range, then you're going to see her whether you have this champion, an elixir buff, or nothing. But for Akali, Twitch, and the like, definitely an unfair advantage as if Riot was setting them up to fail.

I still find it even more of a Teemo/Shaco counter than an Akali counter. Teemo loses his ultimate and Shaco JitB + Deceive.

The OP mentioned keeping the vision to champions and not wards, I think he wanted to include shrooms/boxes in the same category as wards.

Imo, he never even thought aboutthose and simply realized that instantly countering wards without any counter-effects would suck. I seriously think that he never included them in his train of thoughts :P.

Setting champs up for a fail is a synonym for being countered. If this champion were to exist they would be useless against people that don't require augmented vision

To be fair, Heimer is hard countered by syndra like nothing else in game.

I simply don't see a problem with this sort of passive. I just think it would be best on supports.

i like the idea of an oracle champ, but a passive that reveals stealth would be too op

maybe an ability that reveals stealth and gives vision in a small radius, kinda like a short range ashe e would be cool though

if it were a passive, it would have to have some limitation, like it can only detect moving stealth units, but stealthy ppl that stand still are not seen

idk, just my opinion

kinda ruin stealth champions though rendering them useless... :/

I think it is a cool concept and would be cool for a support. Maybe modify the time it would reveal stealth or based on actions of the character so that it wouldn't be constant.

Like AOE vision per skill usage -- that's an excellent idea!

Maybe they could just give her clarivoyance lol
