I love when a new champion is being added to League of Legends, and I love that Riot has taken steps to try to keep old champions relevant, however I feel like Twisted Fate is one of the older champions that still seems clunky, so I have re-work proposal for him.

Disclaimer, I haven't spent an awful long time thinking about this or the fine details of its balancing, but I just wanted to start a brainstorming post

New nickname : Twisted Fate, Death Dealer.

New Passive: Counting Cards- Spells and Auto Attacks hit on enemy champions and Minions apply Card Counters 5 card stacks on an enemy gives you a Royal Flush, using an ability or attack on an enemy unit with a Royal Flush on them Grants Twisted Fate a Movement Speed Boost.

New Q Dynamic: Wild Cards- Twisted Fate throws 3 cards that deal magic damage to each enemy unit they pass through, and apply 1 card counter stack to each.

New W Dynamic: Pick a card - Active Cast once to shuffle the deck and again to choose your card, enhancing your next attack. Each card deals magic damage with a bonus effect, Cards hit on enemies with card counters will have increased effectiveness.

Blue Card: 0 Card Counters = Restores 5% of missing mana 1 Card Counter = Restores 15% of missing mana on enemy champions (5% on minions) 2 Card Counters = Restores 30% of missing mana on enemy champions (10% on minions) 3 Card Counters = Restores 45% of missing mana on enemy champions (15% on minions) 4 Card Counters = Restores 60% of missing mana on enemy champions (15% on minions) 5 Card Counters (Royal Flush) = Restores 70% of missing mana on enemy champions (15% on minions)

Red Card: 0 Card Counters = Deals magic damage to units around target hit 1 Card Counter = Deals magic damage to units around target hit applying 1 card counter to units nearby 2 Card Counters = Deals magic damage to units around target hit applying 2 card counters to units nearby (1 to enemy champions) 3 Card Counters = Deals magic damage to units around target hit applying 3 card counters to units nearby (2 to enemy champions) 4 Card Counters = Deals increased magic damage to units around target hit, applying 3 card counters to units nearby(3 to enemy champions) 5 Card counters (Royal Flush) = Deals increased magic damage to units around target hit, applying 3 card counters to units nearby (4 to enemy champions)

Yellow Card: 0 Card Counters = Slows hit enemies move speed by 15% for 5 seconds 1 Card Counter = Slows enemy units movement speed by 25% for 5 seconds 2 Card Counters = Slows enemy units movement speed by 50% for 5 seconds, and grounds them for 1.5 seconds 3 Card Counters = Roots enemy unit for 1 second and they are grounded for 1 second following 4 Card Counters = Stuns enemy unit for 1.5 seconds for .5 seconds following 5 Card Counters (Royal Flush) = Stuns enemy unit for 2 seconds for 1 second following

Change to his E:

  • Stacked Deck- Next target hit by an auto attack will have 2 Card Counters applied to them instead of 1 Mana cost 40/55/70/85/100

Slight change to Destiny : When Twisted Fate teleports in, he applies 2 Card Counters to units nearby him.

To reiterate I am not well versed in balancing on champions. Twisted fate currently is actually at 51% win rate in platinum and above, however his pick rates are low, and he has been over shadowed for quite a while now by other mid lane picks. Maybe I'm wrong about all this though, maybe Twisted Fate is in a good spot, and is actually a fun Champion to play in his current state.
