Fan Design: Taric Rework
I'm mainly posting this for fun, not for any actual insight for Riot to use. With the long wait for Tarics VU and rework I have thought about MY ideas on how to make him a fun an viable support. Basically I thought having Taric would be best as a health shredding support for his team while having low damage by himself, but being a fairy big front line man, this would make him less viable against a all in low health team, but very viable vs more bruiser or tanky team fight oriented teams. So without a long winded into lets get down to it.
Passive: Gem Crafting (was Gemcraft)- After every Spell hit on an enemy Taric applies a Magic gem to the Target. (Can stack up to 4 times, Each application resets the timer) After the next Auto attack dealt to that champion by Taric or a friendly Team mate, it does .5% HP dmg per stack, and for each stack reduces the CD on Tarics abilities by 1 second. (last 4 seconds or till new application of a stack)
Q- Infuse (Was Imbue) - Taric Cast a Gem on himself or his team mate increasing his armor and mag res by 5%, or adding 5% of his bonus Armor and Mag resistance to his team mate. The next time they take damage, they are healed for 4/6/8/10% Tarics BONUS health. If cast on an ally Taric is healed 20% of the amount healed. (last 6/8/10/12 seconds on target)
W- Weighted Shatter (Was Shatter)- Taric breaks down and applies his armor to target enemy champion. Taric loses 75% of his Bonus armor and Magic resistance but gains 30% movement speed during the duration of the spell. Tarics armor is so heavy that the enemy champion is slowed by 30% for 3/4/5/6 seconds. (hitting W again will cancel out this effect and restore Tarics stats)
E- Dazzling Blow- (Was Dazzle)- Taric Throws his mighty Hammer in a straight line, stunning any minions/pets in it's path for 1/2/3/4 seconds and dealing damage based on 2/3/4/5% Tarics total health. If his hammer collides with a Enemy Champion it stops in it's path, and they are stunned for .75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds and dealt the same Damage. If Taric picks up the hammer, his next Auto attack will deal a bonus of .25% HP Dmg X the number of Gem Crafting stacks on the target.
R- Radiant Blow (Was Radiance)- Taric Throws his Mighty Hammer into an Area Dealing damage to enemy champions (1/3/5% of Tarics BONUS health) and reducing their armor and magic resistance by 10/15/20% for 6/7/8 seconds, Taric however can not cast Dazzling Blow until he picks up his Hammer. If Allies Fight within range of Tarics Hammer (1000 radius) They gain 20% of Tarics bonus Magic resistance and Armor. If Taric picks up his Hammer this effect is Canceled.
Summary:
So thats my take on a Taric revamp. It might seem over powered in some aspects, but in ways players would be forced into more choices of when should I cast this spell (like Weighted shatter), should I pick up my hammer during Radiance for a possible stun on someone or should I keep my aura going? I didn't like that Tarics W was a ever growing wide range Aura. With Riots nerfs to Auras I figured it would be fitting to move it into his ultimate with a catch for more play decisions.
I also wanted his Shatter to have a more risk and reward feeling to it. I wanted the risk of being blown up to close the gap and mobility of hard to catch champions like Kalista Kassadin and Ezreal to have a more rewarding feeling of use and also ensure a more direct hit from Dazzling blow or even Radiant Blow. However with the counter play of, "Tarics vulnerable now, hit him hard" option for the enemy team. (that an some nice sneaky plays with items like thornmail delivering more dmg to carries by lowing his stats, based on the damage he takes while stacking his HP)
With Tarics E, I always hated that it was a point and click. Even when i played Taric back in Season 2. It never felt rewarding and it was a boring skill to use. So i added the skill shot like Olafs Axe along with a reward factor if you hit for an easy Auto attack for bonus dmg.
Well that is about all. Let me know what you think about it. If you hate it, love it, feel it's ok. Let me know if you'd play him more, what builds you would use around this revamp, just let me know pretty much anything about the topic or ideas in general. Thank you for your time :)
