Can't permalink our own posts?

pemalink is just the url to take someone to that specific post in a thread, just right click, copy link location to get the address.

not sure exactly what part seems weird.

well it will provide the url to go to that specific post IN the thread.

for example if you click the permalink option on this post here, when the page reloads it will automatically bring you (or anyone else with that url) to the thread and then scroll them to exactly THIS post.
