As a Boards fan, why i hate the deleting of GE

To all those other Boards veterans (if you can call it that) out there, this is mostly asking yall if you feel the same way. I didn't realize at first that they had deleted the GE, I just thought retards had suddenly multiplied exponentially for no apparent reason. most posts I saw were people raging, complaining, looking for teams, and all sorts of other crap. then my brother told me they deleted the GE and I thought well that explains it, but why would they do that? we don't want them here, we have a nice constructive community carefully built, and now its been trampled. its like taking children who have been fed nothing but sugar for the last 3 days and have been playing in the mud that whole time and putting them in the classiest restaurant in town and telling them there's a gold bar in someones shoe. I used to go on to the boards and id find some cool artwork or a post giving advice about how to play a little better or a legitimate, non-ragey question to riot. now those are the rare nuggets of glory in a swamp of stupidity. cmon riot, I was enjoying all the people nobody likes swarming the GE like mosquitos to a bug zapper.

First off, I love that you feel morally superior to us and yet call us "retards". Very classy.

Second off, if you can get riot to reinstate gd we'd gladly leave you to your pseudo-intellectual circlejerk, but until then, get used to us.

That was bound to happen when people realized Riot wasn't going to bother putting any features into what GD was while the Boards existed.

While I think Boards wasn't ready to become the main platform, I have no problem with GD coming here. In fact, I welcome them.

Are there people who don't know how to post constructively? Sure. But it's our job to show them how to post constructively, by example. Making a post complaining about them.... that's just another complaining post, to me.

I will disagree that the GD migration would have always been a bad idea. There are very intelligent people that were in the old GD and they are here now. What we have is an insane increase in traffic volume, which also inevitably means an increase in low-quality posting. We had that in the Boards pre-switch as well, but it happened so seldom it wasn't easily noticed.

I agree with Hyrum that I personally do not believe the Boards were (are) ready for this switch. But that being said, the amount of low-quality posts outside of the GD Board (because they just have fun over there, props to 'em I say) is actually impressively low comparatively to old GD.
