Discussion View is still awful

in boards where posters mostly use discussion view over chronological view, i switch to discussion view because of the fact that replies made in discussion view to certain comments show up as individual out of context comments in chronological view, which creates confusion

the problem with this is that in post-heavy threads with multiple discussions going on at the same time, after a while it becomes impossible to find newer posts because trying to find the correct "show more" option is like trying to find a needle in a haystack with so many comment threads
