Riot Posts on the Boards

When we say we wany Riot to post on the Boards more often, and when Zwill admits* that they need to improve the number and frequency of communications here on the Boards, a dozen posts on the discussion of pick-up lines is not what we're talking about. We want to know what you're thinking about the game. Here's a small sample of discussions I'd rather see Riot's input on than the pickup lines.

Are these all from Gameplay and Balance? You bet they are. So are more than 2/3 of the Hot discussions on the homepage with 50+ points (and 1/10 of the posts in Red Tracker, I'll note). The pickups lines are worth a chuckle, don't get me wrong, but understand they supplement discussion of gameplay rather than a substitute for it. Not all Riot posts on Boards are created equal.

The idea that discussion about gameplay mechanics and more frivolous topic chatter are mutually exclusive is potentially damaging to our relationship. Riot isn't necessarily limited to a certain number of comments that they are "wasting" on threads (e.g. the pickup line thread), it's just that those sorts of topics are the easiest for multiple Rioters to engage with.

A discussion about Riven's Q, for example, is something that only a handful of Rioters would have true insight into, and these are generally the designers working on other content. Making pickup lines is something that any Rioter can involve him/herself in if he/she chooses, so it's much more accessible. There is also far less pressure on Riot in those types of threads (no one is looking for a detailed and comprehensive response about something they really care about), which makes it easier for posts to happen.
