[Boards Improvement] Suggested Feature to Reduce Phishing Spam
As a preventative measure to reduce phishing scams that are constantly being spammed on the boards, I'd like to suggest a system (I do not know how much work it'd take to implement);
- Whenever someone uses a scam keyword in title body or comment, or adds a link to one, their thread or comment is automatically deleted and their account is flagged for immediate moderator review to determine if they are a spam bot, a compromised account, or just someone who mentioned it innocently and the account is forum banned or simply notified of the rules through notification as appropriate.
That's it. Auto-deletion, and account red flag for manual review. I always report them immediately and the mods get rid of them within mere minutes, but there is still time between that which exposes phishing scam-ignorant players, and that is what they are counting on.
This would be nice in the client as well. Blizzard uses this in World of Warcraft, automatically erasing any message with common gold selling sites before it even appears (they don't really keep on top of it though. The old Peons4Hire was blacklisted but SusanExpress apparently not for a long time lol).
