What is copied over from reddit that you don't like?
Upvotes, downvotes, dynamic listings.
Ok, fair, I can understand why these would be not liked by some. What kind of ordering would you like to see instead?
Trusting the majority to weed out bad content is an inherently bad design. Just because it's a popular opinion doesn't make it right.
While that isn't actually addressing my question, I can still work with that. You are completely right that majority opinion can be wrong and in fact it's very vulnerable to misinformation and sensationalism, something I deem a core value of any respectable forum to prevent.
Now knowing that, which do you prefer? An ordering that gives visibility based on number and frequency of replies or one that gives a reader the choice to support or deny visibility based on their individual opinion? As it stand those are your current options, unless you have your own proposal.

I actually don't like the voting system myself and have tried to come up with viable alternatives for awhile now.
Do you have an idea for a viable alternative of ordering posts? I'd be happy to discuss it with you. :)

I can actually count on a single hand how many times I've even visited Reddit. I just much prefer to discuss solutions than circlejerk discuss problems, doesn't really go anywhere you know?

So what other ordering system would you rather see?

Ok, I can understand that. While I personally have my own problems with vBulletin and prefer CB's ordering system (even though I do admit it is flawed) I recognize that my opinion simply differs from yours and I respect your point of view.
Have you tried using the chronological (forum) comment view (top left of comment section) and 'recent' ordering (for posts page)? While it still lacks the sorting by activity (bumping, frequency of replies, etc.), it is a step towards the older forums. A baby step, yes, but a step nonetheless.
Upvotes and downvotes are on GD too, though... The only difference is that here, massive downvotes won't outright close a thread. I'd argue that this actually cuts down on people spamming the same topic after their thread gets closed--because now there's no excuse and doing it will more than likely result in a ban.
