What happened to PotD?

If there was an announcement, I definitely forgot. Is there a reason why we don't tend to see PotD's anymore?

It was always just Baconhawk. I'm not sure why she stopped. Maybe it was taking too much time to do properly and people were complaining that it wasn't chosen evenly/fairly?
I'm just speculating, though -- I have no clue.
