Dear Riot, I think you finally accomplished what I never thought possible with this community after spending close to a year on GD.

You created a forum system that almost completely void of all sh*tposts, circle jerks, and irrelevant discussion, quite an accomplishment on a game that is rumored to have one of the worst communities in the gaming world.

Are the boards overbearing schematically? Yes. Is it a reddit-style layout? Absolutely. Did I hate it at first after moving from GD? I did.

However, there are obvious advantages as well. There are notifications to tell me when my post has been replied to or quoted. I can see all the interesting content on all genres of forums, not just GD. I can see what is popular. There is no porn, no swearing, the forum moderation feels for the most part, more smooth.

The new boards are not perfect, but after using them for 2 days, and getting to find my way around the layout, I applaud you Riot for a job well done. And I think if you are honest with yourselves, you will too.

you have revived my hope in you as a company.

One of my absolute favorite things they've done is make it so threads in GD don't show up if you just pull up the main Boards page. I get a nice summary of activity from across all the boards that actually discuss League. A lot of the issues with GD still exist, but they're contained within the new GD section, which we don't ever have to open up if we don't want to.

I feel that those had no meaning other than providing an easy way to pick on people new to the forums. Post related titles that don't specify what they actually mean support an exclusive group mentality and that rarely goes over well in a public forum.

I hate the downvotes people give you where you go from 1 to 0 so no one even sees your post. I wish there were a feature that made them explain why they did this. Why make those with 0 go down so far? I don't even see myself in the threads anymore when I post anything. People will post the same junk as someone else to hope for more attention so I like posting random stuff. Like Udyr's splash art update. I wanted to share the news. :I

Quashing critical thinking is now easier than ever before. Just a few downclicks and you don't even have to create a counterargument. The post goes away and no one has to see it.

IGN: its complete shit i hate it... 10/10 this is my feelings towards the boards and its reddit style layout while at the same time prefering to use it over GD for a few months now.

I don't even think I can post on GD anymore. Its an archive or something..

Was archived, every bit of it. The poor moderator who had to scan that mess for any "leftovers"... A job well done to you sir.

But beyond that I like the boards so far. GD hated everything except for GD itself. This isn't GD so they hate it. They'll adapt and move on, like everyone else. My only issue with it is that the boards itself are just...not centered where it should be. It just seems off from where it should be, though I can't say where "centered" would be at.

I will say one thing about them that I don't like. I dislike how they removed things because it was "posted on wrong board", but they don't tell you which post them removed or what board it should have been put on. This is slightly frustrating.

yeah, forcing everyone onto the incomplete Reddit knock-off did wonders to restore my faith in Riot.

i miss GD, but i was willing to give the boards a chance. However, I feel the transition was about as poorly executed as it could have possibly been, and the welcoming we got from Tamat on the first night just furthered my disdain for it.

The moment when you wrote down like a 10 paragraph text which means a lot to you (eg. a champ balance or some recommended settings), then few minutes later, Riot completely deletes it just because "Wrong forum bruh, sorry".

See? I told y'all that the Boards deserved a chance! I never did use forums much... But I think the Boards still fulfill the Forum's purpose: to join us together as a community! ^^ If it's a good or bad one... it's not up to us. But it is what it is!
