[Feedback] Login Session timing out while typing new thread

Well feedback time now that I am sad.

I was typing an idea I had for a mentorship program (I'll remake it tomorrow) when a friend invited me to play a game. So I accepted and played the match, typing while I was dead and for a bit after. He then invited me to another match and I continued typing in queue and again while dead, etc.. After the second he went on his way and I finished the thread, but I went to submit and I got logged out for some reason which caused me to lose my work (which was equivalent to about 30-45 minutes of typing, formatting, and proofreading). I was sad and so I came here to post this so we can talk about how long a session should leave you logged in. Also to talk about another idea that I'll probably make a thread for which is kind of a "Save a copy every 60 seconds" feature that I see around the internet occasionally. So how long should the session last? It was obviously too short for me since I play games while I'm typing threads, and I know I'm not alone. So what do we do:

A. Increase the amount of time that one can be logged in without refreshing/loading a page?
B. Allow the forums to save a temporary copy while it is being typed?
C. Something else?
