Can these thread previews be tamed?

Seriously, why is this a thing? "Meanwhile in top lane" has a preview that literally takes up more vertical space than the boards themselves!

• Cut the abundant newlines that exist in RIOT created posts
• Replace ' with ' (it might be related to the fact that I had to escape the #)
• Replace !Annie with
• Replace or remove all the * , - , and _that exists for stylizing text.

You know what most impressed me with the FEK 4? The fact that the previews looked usable. That alone got me to seriously consider getting it, before I realized that I've got one computer I shouldn't install it on, I can't install it on my phone, and I want a consistent experience everywhere.

The boards are how old now? This fix would take how long to implement?
