The limitations of Boards

I'd like to give voice to some concerns of mine in regards to the boards.

Having created a guide on the forums and somehow managed to transfer it onto boards, I've literally hit a concrete wall in regards to formatting options, character limits, embedded pictures, and some associated problems in regards to chronological view and discussion view. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/tips-tricks/64VFYEZy-a-guide-to-understanding-the-dynamics-of-bot-lane

The boards simply isn't suited to post it, let alone iterate upon it and let me explain why.

  1. Character limit In order to move it onto boards I've had to separate it into many different posts in order to include everything, as a result right, the guide is only readable in chronological view, if I decide to add more I'll be in a huge bind as I cannot add, edit or remove portions.
  2. Chronological view When reaching enough posts, multiple pages are created and at the top of each page sits the OP, in my case this leaves a half finished post at the top every time I switch a page. If the character limit was increased significantly there would be a HUGE post every time you changed a page, that is a rubbish solution due to redundancy data requested by the user, putting a rather large strain on both the system and the readers machine.
  3. Discussion view I'll be honest, it looks like complete crap, and I have no idea which part belongs where.
  4. Post limitations Posts have significantly decreased post limits compared to the OP, furthermore despite having used the same method when posting picture, they are somehow bugged in all the following posts.
  5. Formatting options I would like some clear instructions on how the formatting options work here, including but not limited to, imbedding, lists, symbols, special characters and more.

Hey Declined,

Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Going to attempt to address each as I am able.

  • Character Limit: We're going to be playing around with increasing the character limit on both comments and discussions. No ETA when but it should be implemented relatively soon.
  • Chrono View & Discussion View: We are working on streamlining both types of comment views. This will include a better quoting system amongst other clarity items.
  • Post Limitations: Not 100% sure what you're saying here, sounds like it may be referencing attachments. If you want to provide more context I'll respond with more details.
  • Formatting Options: Formatting improvements are in the works. It's not the best experience at the moment and we're taking your guy's feedback into account.
