Why is this?

I doubt this is something account specific.

If I open a thread that a Rioter has commented in, I would think that I would still have a shortcut button to that RIot comment like I used to. Unless Riot intentionally decreased the functionality of the new boards.

Should still be the "Rioter Comments" box to the left (I just checked mine, still there). What browser are you using?

If you open it from the Red Tracker, it always brings you to the Red comment (it's pretty annoying that you have no way to reach the first post btw), but it will often take several minutes to realise it has to move you down there to the comment.
