Rito Plz: Private Boards

Rhlax··2 votes·796 views

I would like to collaborate with other Leaguers...

Instead of using Google Doc/other means, I want to do so on a private board where only invited parties can access/see.

This can be great for clans, ranked teams, as well as a champion concept or other in game suggestions...

Coming soon TM

Actually not for a while yet; there are more immediate priorities, like improvements to the platform and moving other regions from vbulletin to Boards. User-created boards, which can have barriers to entry, are coming.

Private boards would be a good way to differentiate from Reddit. I hope it is coming soon.

Private Boards ~= user created boards with restrictions on joining ~= subreddits :P

subreddits are public, no? anyone can read/join/discuss..

My idea of private board is like google doc - a place of privacy and collaboration

I thought there were private subreddits, too. But I could very well be wrong -- I don't use reddit.

As to reasons to use this platform, though -- long run, it'll be because of client integration.

I don't use reddit

i use reddit daily... while there is no private subreddits, (actually there is) there is the ability to send a private message

why?

That'll come to boards, I believe. And chat room to community integration.

{quoted} why?

Because it'll be awesome when you get client notifications through boards. And can view a guide on boards and one-click-import it into an item set. And can when there's chat rooms that are only open to you if you're a member of a community.

im not sure if about the value that it provides there.. if im in the client i can always alt tab out..

i feel like boards are for discussions, websites for what happens after discussions.. boards -> content creation in progress! website -> published! content created.

i have seen your name a lot on the boards, so i thought i'd take some time to challenge your thoughts :) Teemo

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by 'website' here. Why can't boards have discussions AND guides and stuff?

Always happy to have a discussion :)

Website as in published guides - it is more refined. There is lots of great guides out there that pro players make on the internet.

I feel boards should be more feedback/suggestion/discussion focused. Thats where it creates value. At least for me.

When there's user-created boards, what's the harm in having a board dedicated to guides (perhaps, by pro players as well, etc), in addition to boards dedicated to discussion?
