Disorganized player toxicity rant and PSA
Apart from feeding laners, I've noticed that I seem to be filled into support and jungle the most. Please note that I'm in low silver, so this might not apply to other ranks. Anyways, whenever I'm in game, it seems people are always blaming a ton of stuff on these two roles. Some of it isn't even reasonable. For example, I've seen games where the ADC got pissed at the support for not saving them when the ADC literally walked into a melee fight with a 12/3 Zed and WW, or when all the lanes are losing and everyone else starts getting pissed at the jungler when they're ganking one lane for not choosing to prioritize theirs. Why can't people be reasonable and acknowledge their own mistakes? If all the lanes are feeding and the jungler is still ganking at a reasonable rate without feeding, it's most likely not their fault. If the ADC is constantly facechecking bushes or can't dodge skillshots, it's not the support's fault. I feel like a lot of the toxicity in league comes from people unfairly assigning the blame instead of just growing up and apologizing for something. They'd rather resort to profanity and offensive slurs instead of just typing one word (starts with 's', ends with 'orry') which I think is pretty dumb. It's also really crummy that barely anyone bothers to stick up for someone when they're getting abuse hurled at them. Just because it's online doesn't make it any less annoying/anger inducing/hurtful. It's even worse when people let it happen. I'm not trying to encourage people to call the offender something back, but I feel like even one person telling the person to stop (politely of course) would de-escalate the situation. We're humans, not grunting barbarians. We should at least have a tiny bit of compassion, even if it's online and we don't know any of those people. While we're telling Riot to stop the toxicity, we literally could've done it ourselves by just taking a few seconds while we're at fountain to tell the toxic guy to stop. I guarantee you, most of these keyboard warriors only have the guts to harass someone because they know that no one else is going to retaliate. These people immediately lose their courage when it becomes a 2v1, and when someone is telling them that what they're doing is wrong. It's a game, just like Monopoly and Hide and Seek. It's not meant to be toxic, but the players choose to take things too seriously. Muting is always an option, but the toxic message has still been seen, and muting can't turn back time, or solve the roots of this problem. One toxic message is still one too many. It's meant to be fun, not a toxic cesspool. If you would tell someone to kill themselves over a game of Tag, that's definitely an issue. It's also problematic that people think it's okay to use mental illnesses as an insult, or wishing diseases such as cancer on anyone over a game. It's not funny, it's not okay, and it's triggering, especially if the person has had any past experiences with the illness. Whenever anyone gets toxic in a game, it seriously annoys me. I have a hard time imagining these players walking up to their victims in real life and repeating their behavior, especially when they know nothing about the other person. I really can't see anyone walking up to a stranger and telling them their mother should've gotten an abortion, someone telling a twelve year old to jump off a bridge, or someone telling a recent university graduate with a PhD that they're retarded and have a negative IQ.
