The system gives so many second chances, players here are surprised when they finally get Perma'd

I've been reading threads where players get upwards of 8+ second chances before the perma drops.

These guys and gals clearly got so used to punishments, they lost an understanding of the implied severity of the situation.

Bearing in mind that the vast majority of players either never get punished or clean up their act immediately, maybe all these second chances are doing more harm than good

what are you talking about? after 3 punishments your next 1 is a perma ban homie there's no second chances

It's usually only 4 3 chances, then out.

Getting 8+ chances means the player showed improved behaviour, so much that the system dropped their 'punishment level'. If you don't want people to be accountable for what they said 2 years ago, dropping the punishment level is necessary to be humane.

When players get their 14-day ban it says on the reform card that the next punishment will be a permanent suspension, so can't give the excuse they weren't expecting the permaban.

i think giving second chances is good, that is second chances and not 8th chances haha i myself have been reported and banned from chat a couple times but im fairly new to the game (1 year) and i didnt understand the severity of the punishments and what qualifies as a reportable offense. now i know and have improved my behavior considerably.

to me the chat bans are a very light punishment, even a 5 day ban from playing isnt that bad when you look at other punishments. for instance because of my chat ban i was dropped from honor level 4 to level 0. and i can tell you it definitely took alot longer than 5 days to recover my honor levels (currently level 1 checkpoint 2).

i think they should be more transparent with the punishments. had i known i would have lost ALL my honor levels cuz of 1 bad game then i wouldnt have said what i said. now i know what youre thinking "you shouldnt need an incentive to not be a jerk in game" and i agree thats true. but knowing the consequences ahead of time would reduce the amount of toxic people im sure of it.

ex: if you rob a bank or commit a crime, you know what the punishment would be ahead of time and you decide to take that risk or not. if someone didnt know they could be arrested for committing crimes they would be more likely to do it. thats all im saying :)

This guy was permabanned for trying to get his 14-day ban repealed, Riot is just going too far now or their staff just has too little training.
