While I understand Riot's intent with honor (rewards), i wholeheartedly disagree with the title of this post. If it is so basic of a concept, then it should just be expected to be a decent person. People shouldn't need to be rewarded to get them to exhibit behavior that satisfies basic standards.

It would also be acceptable for RIOT to reward skill a bit more instead of behavior so those that behave themselves but ruin games over and over and over and over would receive less for what their inability to improve does to the many other gamers who are trying to improve but that don't happen either. You get free stuff for doing what should come natural, being a decent human being.

If they started giving us more, then we'd ask for more.

There are a lot of benefits to being a neutral-positive player, chief among them, keeping your account. Beyond that, you can earn chests, keys, and eventually honor capsules. So there are more than just what you've listed that are tied to basic human decency.

I do always want a bit more in my loot boxes, but your request is baffling. You want more for "basic human decency"? It sounds like you want something that is innately present in most humans to be rewarded more.

Honor capsules to me feel less of a reward for me behaving normally and appear to be more incentive for toxic players to act nicer.

I've gotten numerous Honor Capsules, and gotten 450BE*[zombie-brand-mindblown]* champ shards every single time......
