Should toxic, afk then rage quits players deserve leavebusters or 14 days ban?

I'm curious of what the community will respond to the typical players such as the one i mentioned above.

Leavebusters tbh Otherwise it's like "Welp rip, time to play something else for 14 days" Then they'll come back, mess up another game, and then simply repeat the process.

14 days ban should be good enough to warn them. Anymore BS from them, we all know what will happen next.

The issue with punishing extra for those paticular leaves/dc's is that they can be separate events, and there is no way that you can be certain that the leave was a rage quit or because of something else.

For example; A player rages in chat. The local storm knocks out power while they are raging in chat, making it look like they rage quit.

Are they guilty of poor behavior in chat? Yes. They'll be judged by the behavioral system once they accrue enough legitimate reports.

Are they guilty of dc'ing from the game? Also yes. They'll be hammered by Leavebuster if they accrue enough leaves within a certain amount of time.

But should they be additionally punished because they had the poor luck to be forced to disconnect at a time that they were showing poor behavior? I don't think so.

I've had that exact thing happen to me. I've calmed down (rage less, having more fun) which has helped my games. I don't think there should be a double penalty. I think leaverbuster in itself reforms people for lots of bad behavior and anything beyond that is addressed by reports

Who said the two were exclusive?

LeaverBuster will automatically detect the AFK/Leave. If it's not the first time they've done it in a while, they'll most likely get a penalty from LeaverBuster.

But at the end of the game, if the person was toxic, report them for it! If they frequently behave that way, they're going to get a punishment from the Instant Feedback system for their behavior in chat, too. (Maybe not immediately after the game you reported them in, but your valid reports will count as marks against that player which can ultimately lead to a punishment).
