So why do everyone makes such an big deal about the metagame?

Case in point: I just had a loss with Cho'Gath, an teamate called me an retard for going bot with Nunu while Yi and Jinx went top. Well there's 2 each on top and bot lanes and one in mid. All of your bases are covered, so what's with the hate mate? The in-game tutorial never said that Cho always had to farm top. If want to blame someone, go blame whoever wrote the tutorial levels: Its missing some info about viable item builds and the differences between the lanes.

meta is more or less what just works.. it's not really a rule...

now you being level 8 was this in Bots or PVP..

  1. No one cares in bots.. it doesn't matter.. you could go AP Gnar and win Bots..

  2. PVP, chances are your fighting smurfs.. High level smurfs.. They aren't kind to new players.. Just keep playing PVP, Mute everyone.. or keep it open.. and just laugh as people rage at you..

People are going to rage at you all the time in this game.. I'm sorry it's like that but that's how it is.. Some people are chill. and many people are competitive. Just get used to the rage now.. try to take it in a more positive way then a negative way.

Person one: [all] THIS ____ IS TRASH

You[all} : Oooh! If im trash can I be the soda can!

You will cause the enemy teams some laughs while you harmlessly toll your raging teamate. It a lot more gratifying and it makes rage seem more fun. I have never been banned or restricted for my harmless jokes and trolls. and it causes some good laughs..

but if you truely don't like rage, just make sure your all chat is off and you mute any teamates that are mean. Do not respond in negitive manors, If you feel you are getting too angry don't play another game and just.. chill... watch a video while you cool down

The thing about a game's meta is that while it does form partially from opinion, it also forms from a basis of what works and what doesn't. It's a pretty weird social process. ADCs go bot because the best person to deal with an ADC is usually another ADC. If you try and swap mid and bot, the other person will swap, so it becomes this sort of understanding that the ADC goes bot.

The fact is, you can get away with Cho'gath on any lane. He's got good sustain and wave clear. General view of the meta is that non-support tanks go top or jungle. However, he used to be a popular mid pick and jungle pick.
