This game that used to be social is now a game I instantly mute everyone ingame

I know communities get bad over time like WoW and stuff but this is unplayable without muting everyone.

It's kinda sad cause s1-3 was really fun until everyone got super competitive and started flaming anyone who they felt like. Almost as if people are queueing up for the SOLE purpose of fighting with someone.

I mean it's getting to the point where I make a bad play and teamates left and right say things like "omg this guy is tilting"

Well guess what i was perfectly calm before. Maybe it was even my first game of the day. Yet you keep saying stuff like that and eventually i do indeed get what you call "tilted".

But it's not "tilted" from sucking or making a bad play. It's because many people just won't stop flaming and even when I say "no i just made a bad play" they will continue almost increasing the amount of "your tilted you troll"

So sad because I like playing with people and chatting but not anymore

The time has come where another social game becomes anti social because I really know someone almost every game will ruin it for the rest.

It's not League, though, it's just online gaming in general. Because people used to be raised by other humans, and then go play sports or video games. So they brought civilization with them, and their inherent humanity. Now you're dealing with a population of gamers who are mostly neglected kids raised by their video game consoles while their parents worked ridiculous hours to keep a roof over their head.

And if your only real parent is an Xbox, your desire for parental love and approval gets converted to an achievement system. Of course you take every tiny mistake in video games seriously when winning is the only way your Xbox Daddy will ever love you.

Which is why i want dynamic que back. Queing up for ranked with a group of friends was always fun win or lose because we all knew where we stood with eachother.

This game has not gotten better. I made a smurf the other day to play as same level as my friend who started to play, and opponent starts flaming my friend because hes bad telling him what a noob he is etc. So i tell this person in post game chat that he shouldnt do that, its not good for the community and his reply? "Shut up". This type of behavior is what ive seen since season 2. It hasnt changed, its gotten worse. It will never change.....why? Because of the age of the player base. Its dominated by teenagers who buy rp with mommys cc. Hit the mute, fill out a quick 2 sentences when you report. Try to have fun.

If you think S3 was good, you're mistaken.

It was significantly more cancerous since people would report you for the stupidest things. Tell someone to ward or suggest someone to do something different ("Don't dive X"), get reported.

It is a LOT better now.

It was so bad that I quit and started playing only in S5 again.

Well I think as far as trends goes:

  1. New players come from 'annoying chat flamer' from some sort of game's culture or absorb toxicity from the 1-30 as a habit.

  2. Toxic boosters absolutely ruined gameplay for the middle line. You're basically going to play against someone high plat/diamond that calls you names and trolls you on your team over some stats from a losing game that you also had another jerk.

  3. Rookies / Bronzies that have no game knowledge losing their mind over every little thing.

I've been using /mute all for the last several days. It helps.

Gatchaman's comment is so on the money. That is my childhood.

anyways.

I have gotten to the point that i have pings muted as well. Unless i'm in a party. A real life grinds my gears is now in digital form. I lose it when anybody like a boss, an imaginary girlfriend, a 16 year old with 2 rune pages tells (pings) me to do something I am currently doing. I fucking lose it.

I'm tryndamere attacking my tower plain as day. ping ping ping attack tower. Good fucking lord it's obnoxious.

Then there is the back ping. OMFG Fuck off. I play champs that have baits as part of the gig like ap shaco top or sup... ping ping ping.... or When i run barrier ignite under my own tower as tryndamere.... pin ping ping......

Then last but not least. 5 man bush gang bang vs 1 me ping ping ping..... NO SHIT I'm dead before first ping even gets hit. ping ping ping

I used to say something along the lines of " imagine what u could do in your lane if your were not busy wondering what i am doing on other side of map" Typical response is "why didnt u get out" that's when flip and its game over for everyone. I don't have that cheat code. I can type BLACKSHEEPWALL and nothing happens. I can't just hit the fly button or burrow my zergling. This game is full of delusional napoleons. So I give it the double whammy.

If you are one of the jerk off control freak wannabe coaches. You make the trolls you are not placed with trolls. side note DIE.

Ive been here from season 1, and have played DotA (warcraft 3 mod) for years before i started leagues.

It has always been toxic. Im pretty sure this game type has a affinity for the toxic. This has been my experience atleast, yours could be different.

Im sure Riot cares about the community, it honestly doesn't make sense for them not to. What i dont get is the countless times and the sheer amount of things that are not handled. AFKS are absolutely INSANE lately. If someone afks even 1/10 games, there needs to be serious action taken against that, as it is quite possibly the worst experience possible in League. Toxicity is something that should be a "eh it happens" rather than a "its going to happen". Honestly, if i am queuing up by myself, 1 out of 3 games AT LEAST there is someone who is toxic, trolling, and/or flaming. I feel like Riot is scared to take action as bans do infact cut into their revenues, however the sheer amount of toxicity is just not acceptable. I have come close several times to just not playing not because of the abysmal balancing issues or the broken champion releases, but because of the community. And that is quite sad. Hopefully Riot fixes either their balancing issues or their player behavior, because at the rate both are going, League is quite likely not going to last long.

Personally, I don't /mute all at the beginning of each game. I do mute people when they say things like "you're 4 cs behind, you fucking suck" (actual quote from a game I played last week). Why do people need to point out that other players suck? What good does that do for anyone? I just don't get it.

Krigjer1/22/2016, 10:00:04 PM1 votes

In both games I lost in my placements, we lost because someone on the team was badmouthing everyone else instead of concentrating on the game.

I've gotten to the point where I flatout tell people to shut up so no one tilts. Mute someone the moment they start talking shit, whether they're on your team or not.

ModPrandine1/22/2016, 10:09:05 PM1 votes

I fail to see the purpose of muting everyone at the start of the game just because you're afraid that they'll all start acting up. If you ask me muting should only be used if you know someone's being a jerk. It just seems such a waste of a potential fun/enjoyable time talking with others if you mute everyone just because of the fear of someone potentially acting up.

i actually agree with Gatchman but League have an extroardinary toxic communication ingame... if i compare it to DotA where i've never been flame orally or in text League is the kingdom of flame and insult...

but the problem isn't that player is toxic. this is a online game but the consequences are pretty inexistant...
