My thoughts on the Singed Support thing, along with a short story on how I was temp banned as well

Hey, so i see a lot of posts on that support singed player, and i thought i'd share my opinion and story.

I think that it's okay to be playing an off-meta role/pick, but there seems to need to be a limit as to what you're doing. That guy is obviously queuing as support, but isn't supporting the ADC, and is ultimately ruining the game for his ADC because he's not warding, endlessly splitpushing all game, and in all seriousness, is being selfish in the way he plays for the fact that he isn't worried about the gameplay experience for the ADC.

My story: I was temp banned for taking smite/ghost in literally every game. I was, and still am a sion jungle 1 trick, except i'd queue up as jungle/mid to maximize my potential of getting my role. Anytime i'd get mid, i'd still take smite because i genuinely love the summoner spell over other spells.

Sion players will know that he has really good wave clear, even with full tank. you simply E, W, Q and the wave is gone. I'd do this, then go into the jungle and take anything i could find. From red buff, to full raptor camps, to the scuttle crab, whether it be from my teammates or from the enemy.

At the end of the day, i received a temporary ban of 2 weeks because this is a toxic style of gameplay. And yes, i had maintained a 54 percent win rate doing this, but i was sacrificing the gameplay experience for my own jungler.

Look at the ADC's KDA's in that singed support's games, they usually feed, which is understandable. And it must be REALLY unfun for them.

When i look at the jungler's farm in the games that i was doing what i was doing, they were underleveled/underfarmed ect.

When i was banned at the time, i thought it was ridiculous, but when i think about it now, it was selifish, and not the right way to play. The most important thing is that what he is doing and what i was doing is seen as not taking your respective role given in champ select. In both cases, we were not actively fulfilling the duties of the roles we queued up for. I was spending most of my time in the jungle after pushing the wave, this singed support is spending more time splitpushing, ignoring the laning phase, not buying support items, spending more time in the jungle rather than spending time support his ADC

In both cases, our bans were JUSTIFIED

I think the ADC's need to grow a pair and people need to stop FORCING the Singed to conform to this "Top/Jung/Mid/ADC/Support" meta. It has always been stated that Riot does not want to enforce a meta and wants people to think for themselves. It sounds to me like the ADCs in his game were a bunch of whiny Hillary supporters who want nothing more than to complain about how "offended" they are by everything they encounter in life. Such a joke.

Omg, what's happening? xD

I just got into the boards, and I'm seeing lots of "Singed Support" threads. And now I just refreshed and see a new one.

Did a streamer got banned for using Singed Support? What's this Apocalypse? xD

I read your post btw. But what's exactly happening with this champion in this role? Is he leaving his adc alone most of the time to counter jungle enemy jungler? That's it? Or there a lot more problems apart from vision and stuff?

Because I know there are lots of Supports building AP and not Support-ish. So, what's the difference?

Thanks for explaining.

He copy-pasta explains his intentions to his team in champ select. If the bot laner (not adc) is unwilling to chose a champion that works well with the strategy then they are just as guilty of "not communicating" as he is. Just like a Bard support you adapt to your teammates play style if you want to win and if his unwillingness to do what they tell him is bannable then their unwillingness should be equally bannable.

It all depends on the players like was said. I've played Singed support twice before, however I stayed with my adc unless he backed and then maybe went mid to help pressure or remove it. Got a few kills as it too because they broke the first rule; Don't chase Singed. It works in the other positions too. Quinn, while still ranged, is considered more top lane than adc now. When I get a Quinn adc I assume she will roam a lot and pick a champion that can wave kill and is annoying to kill cough Sion cough as the support. It worked fantastically for us. She could roam and I could delay the push on tower. When she was coming back I would hard engage and bada bing bada boom.

"is being selfish in the way he plays for the fact that he isn't worried about the gameplay experience for the ADC."

I don't know about everyone else but........I'm here to win ranked games.........not to make sure my team's adc has a "good ole time".

Like I said in that other thread:

If you're going to pick something incredibly out of meta, especially counter jungle leaving your ADC without support, you need to coordinate that. You're forcing 4 other people to completely alter how they know how to play the game, sometimes with them having no clue how to make it work, and leaving you with the burden of hard carrying them if they start getting stomped.

My friend took some dumbass champ into jungle (I think Sona? Maybe Soraka), and it was a ranked game. The end result was he couldn't gank for shit, his camp clear times were god awful, and eventually the enemy jungler started ganking and counter jungling like crazy, putting my friend even further behind.

If you're going to pull stunts like that, even on norms, at least have the decency to make sure your team is fine with the ridiculous nonsense you're doing. Even if you're winning, chances are that it came at the cost of making the game hell for another player(s). If you lose, you made the game hell for them, and also did something that didn't work because the other team caught on to what was happening and ruthlessly exploited it.

I played semi trolling Singed support for awhile and yes Riot should not allow players to play this way. I got good enough to go top singed again so I quit doing it.

but i was sacrificing the gameplay experience for my own jungler.

LOL.

the name of the game is not "everybody shares farm and we all come in a big circle". It's "as much farm on as few characters, and get 1 of them so far ahead it pulls everyone with it"

Otherwise, im reporting every ADC I play with from now on for not sharing CS.

what you did was a viable and relevant strategy and the jungler should have adapted to it. Hell I played in season 3 and 4 you know what the meta was? Raptors for mid lane, Pre-krugs for the bot, and the top lane gets every wolf he can get his hands on. It was open season on the jungle and the jungler had to rough it with only half the camps.

The ONLY reason this changed, is because riot introduced economic changes to the game to make it less viable.

honestly really double smite is fun. but there were time i did summoner 11 summoner 4 irelia top lane and worked vs tanky people. nothing wrong with off meta picks and if it wins you games then be it. Nobody complains if you lose
