Current ban system as is.
3 years i've had my account. 3 years I've spent playing a game I enjoyed. I know very well I enjoyed it too much and got too deep and that's why I got banned.
I'm not saying toxicity should be unpunished by any stretch of the imagination, but shouldn't permanent bans should be saved for hackers, cheaters, scripters and people who send links to viruses or any other bad shit in chat.
Let me clarify. I would not wish a permanent ban on my worst enemy. I love playing video games, it's what I do. Sometimes I spend too much time on them, but I like that. It doesn't interfere with my schoolwork, I still socialize, and I get done what I need to get done.
"If you love video games you should be able to pick another one up easily, your behavior means you weren't welcome here" I'm harsh on people yes, but I never crossed the line of telling people to kill themselves, or told them I'm going to kill them. It's not that simple, I enjoy playing on my account and I enjoy the game.
(Let me share with you something on the above statement before I go on. Everybody who kills and murders in cold blood as well as people who commit suicide weren't taught the value of another person's life. Give somebody who understands the value of a gun, and they won't use it. This is a tad unrelated to a ban, but more on the fact there's people who tell their teammates to kill themselves when they make a bad play.)
Sure, I still have my skill at the game, but another perma ban is another history book banned imo. The writer has to start all over from a new book.
So many temporary bans i've received over this few years and I never learned my lesson, and that's why the ban system sucks. You can't expect people to change who they are by removing something they may have struggled for years to achieve.
"But video games aren't real life, why are you taking it so seriously?" Video games are art, hobbies, science, math, and entertainment, and a way for others to share what they've made for you (In this case, League of Legends) and anything that exists within any stretch of reality is real life.
"Riot can do whatever they want with this game, if they don't want you playing it, that's your own damn fault. you agreed to this in the EULA and terms of service" I know they don't want people being jerks, but neither punishments nor rewards will help.
Now, I'm hoping people won't see this as another appeal thread and downvote it instantly. I want to know what people think about the permanent bans for toxicity and why it should be the way it is, as well as why it shouldn't be. I will try to reply,
