Does this game get worse the higher up the ladder you get?

So a week or two ago I hit plat 5, which really isn't that high on the ladder, but I've already started to notice a real worrying trend that's started in gold 1/2 and carried right on into plat. There's a lot of games I'm losing now, not so much from playing poorly, though I have plenty of those too believe me, but from team-mates flaming each other or just giving up over the dumbest things in game. There's probably 5 games in the past couple of days where I feel this is the case. I already just mute the enemy team from the start because they don't have anything work reading, but what's really..... disappointing is when someone on your team falls into the trap an starts flaming the other team or your own team because of something that the enemy team started saying and just throw the game away to type. What's worse is when two or more people on your team start going at it for something stupid and a winnable game goes down the tubes because of a petty argument and someone afks/runs it down/solo farms/stops trying until you lose. So I guess I just want to know if this just keeps getting worse, and if there's even anything I can do about this? I'm probably just going to abandon trying to communicate with anyone in this game altogether unless I'm playing with friends, but this really won't help aside from keeping me a little less tilted from reading what they type. I try to stay positive, reassure people they doing fine, and get people to mute someone that's trying to instigate something but that rarely works, and the report system is too much of a joke for it to really enforce bare minimum conduct. Should I just quit while I'm ahead and just play my games to keep from decaying or what?
