This attitude towards people that call for surrender needs to stop

I just had a game where we were losing. We were losing pretty badly. Now before anyone comes in to make assumptions about me, I said nothing in chat other than that "If I had good ping we could be doing so much better bot" and "bot lane was the only one that didn't get steamrolled" I said this as a fact of the state of the situation not as an accusation or a way to blame someone. The other thing you should know is that for most of the early game I was dealing with some heavy lag but despite this me and Tristana were able to hold our own in our lane and it eventually went back down to normal levels.

In the below image you can see what the look of the game was in terms of objectives in the bottom right corner and the items and score of everyone.

At that point in the game I called for a surrender, I think in this particular situation that that's a very VERY reasonable thing to do. When I do so our Nocturne started saying how I'm toxic and how I was "Afk for most of the game" and that it was my fault we were in this situation. I wasn't "afk most of the game" I disconnected and reconnected immediately two times to try and fix my ping and it worked on the second try and despite my high ping I still participated in my lane as you can see by the score of the two AD carries myself and the enemy sup.

After that Nocturne said I was trolling and trying to deliberately lose the game about 30 seconds before the enemy ended the game. I said that this was "not a situation we're going to come back from" and that "Fine! Tell me your plan, if you think we can win this then tell me how to win it and I'll help". And by the way, before you accuse me of it, no, I didn't just give up, even when I call for a surrender I will still fight with all I've got if for no more reason than because it's boring to just sit around doing nothing and for no less reason than because I have a certain level of pride in my ability to play this game. What did he say after I asked this? Nothing. He gave no ideas for how he thought we could win this, he was just trying to blame someone.

I am sick of this attitude from people towards people that call for a surrender even in a situation as bad as this. Someone calls for a surrender and people jump on them and put all the blame on them, exaggerating things they did wrong or making stuff up completely. This is not real life, we are not fighting for our lives, we aren't fighting for anything other than elo and that means very little in life. Belittling someone just because they want to save some time from a situation that they can leave from and to them looks unsalvageable is wrong and both people in game and on these boards do it. Shaming people that call for a surrender needs to stop. If someone is being toxic then YES, being angry with them makes sense. But neither me nor anyone else that just thinks the game is lost deserves to be put down just for asking for an ff.

this is too common some how the tryhards in NA wont let a loss game go... they think their is always a chance for a comeback which to some degree is true but not probable ...

i rather just ff the game and move on to a new one instead of being stuck in a game dragging out for the next 10-15-20 mins just cuz captain asshole dont want to surrender. then someone wants to not FF out of spite. they start to flame and be toxic, arguments start and so on and nothing is gained from this for any one...

if any one is to play right after a game like this they are most likely tilted and aggravated from the previous game and more likely to play bad... be toxic and then get banned or punished cuz them lashing out frustrations.

in all honest if im stuck in games like this ( which happens way to often ) i wont queue up for another game for at least 20 mins or so ... i want to enjoy playing this game... and every day it gets harder and harder

shit last game i played i got shit talked to by the enemy team for winning and carrying the game ...

last game I played was 3/24 before I suggested surrender.

it was 14 minutes in, and it was 3/24.

I don't surrender... EVER.

But this time I proposed we quit.

And 2 of 5 stonewalled us.

3 inhibs down and they have total objective control? Yeah this game was a loss. This game was over. You should have never been berated.

Games are supposed to be tough. Losing so what play the game to the end. So what the enemy has the advantage one of the parts of the game is trying to get it back or at least make it neutral. Easy games CO- OP vs AI. PvP is when you go for bitter hard fights that shift back and forward or fighting up hill its supposed to pit the mind and skills of humans against each other that is the point of PvP games and Enjoying that is where fun in PvP games come from not surrendering when things look unfavorable to you that ruins the experience of your teammates and your enemies.

your team comp sucked and you had a feeding karthus. You had about 10% chance to win the game. Idk why americans cant look at champions and how people are playing to determine if a games over. Guess its better to just waste your life with the inevitable.

Riot themselves dont give a single shit about actual players, they let their automatic system do everything. I was a toxic player, i admit that, but i stopped after a 14 day ban, stopped even mostly talking at all in game. But then a single game, where i had a support that inted 3 times in bot lane then went afk, where the jungler literally decided it was better to finish the enemy raptors instead of help me and counter gank, when i was running right to him, then say "I was there dude", and later int for the rest of the game, and trap us in the game after our top laner went afk as well. Like literally run into 5 people every time he spawned, and refuse to surrender. Where the other team responded to me asking them to just push mid and end because of our 2 afk players, and our inting jungler, by hunting me down anywhere i went for the rest of the game, and refusing to end. This ridiculous game, i got reported by the other team for just wanting the game to end, and i got an instant permanent ban, From One SIngle game, when i had literally stopped talking to people because it wasnt worth losing my account. Riot only cared about their automatic system and takes it as gospel, when more likely than not, now in todays community you are going to get reported more likely for playing bad than actual toxicity. I have submitted a ticket and sent response after response, my ticket has been pushed to a second person now and all i get is a cut and paste response from someone who refusus to actually watch the game and see what was going on. Riot really doesnt care about what their system is doing, how bad it is, the way it enables toxic players who know how to bend the system. They are in it for the money and nothing else.

I mean I'm all for playing until the end, but I'm all for the surrender.

I've played too many games where we'll be getting stomped the entire game and surrender gets put up. Obviously there's always one vote for the person who started it and one other person will usually say yes. As this is going on we'll get a lucky team fight and win. This makes two people instantly say no and it fails.

We do nothing with the team fight win and the enemy team just starts stomping us again and we have to wait for another surrender, which happens when they are at our nexus towers and we finally surrender.

You have these never surrender diehards where maybe one out of ten stomps they have a come back. I'd rather not be stuck in a match where the team gets stomped every team fight and we've lost every lane. I don't care for a comeback or some awesome turn around.

Just set me free. [cass-cry]

I would never support people berating or reporting people for wanting to surrender. You never should have gotten flamed just for suggesting it. Now if someone tries a surrender and then outright goes afk or starts inting when they don't get it, that's another matter. And it has happened twice in my games just in the last two days. "Why are we wasting time on a lost game? Have fun. You're all trash" "Player X has left the game". But I think people who refuse to surrender get a bad rap too. Everyone acts like people who want to try are these jerks who are just trying to torture others.

I used to duo frequently in normals with a friend who always wanted to surrender if the game was going against us at 20 minutes (this was before the unanimous at 15 option). Like... Our team is down in kills 18 to 22 and all three of our outer turrets were gone while the opponents still had one outer left. He wanted to surrender. Every time. After I refused to surrender and me and the rest of our team dragged him to the fifth comeback in games like that, he finally stopped giving up so easy. There's value in trying. Even if you lose. I think playing from behind and giving it my best shot taught me more in this game than anything else. Especially about the value of playing defensively sometimes.

Now I'm NOT saying there aren't games were there is almost no chance of coming back. But if I think it's possible to come back and win, I won't surrender. That's the beauty of the surrender system. If I'm the ONLY one that thinks we can come back, everyone else will outvote me and the game will end. But if more than one of us wants to try, what's the harm in trying? Comebacks can and do happen. I can think of at least three epic comebacks from my past games off the top of my head (two where we managed to catch them at baron and win the fight or steal baron and one where we just got lucky and won a great team fight with long death timers) But if you can get to later stages of the game where death timers are longer, one good team fight or bad call by the enemy team can lead to a victory that looked like almost certain defeat. And those wins are always worth it. I feel better after a win like that than I do after seven consecutive snowball victories in a row.

I don't see the point in hiding summoner names, you can easily look them up on op.gg if you're curious enough. http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=SpecterVonBaren

Asking for surrender is reportable.

It's considered griefing.

I learned that with my two week ban =).
