Draconian punishment is out of control

I miss the days when we had a reasonable banning system. It went something like 1 day, 3 day, 1 week, 2 week, 1 month, perma. That was great. Now it's just you slip up once, let that one troll get to you and say something stupid, and it's straight to 14 and you need to stop playing that account for half a year or risk getting permed.

I wouldn't mind so much if it took more than one game of evidence to ban you for so long. If it took a pattern of behavior to 14 you. But no, just one. Trolls hold all the power in this game. They can call you a boosted monkey all day long, but if you dare to stand up for yourself it's straight to the gulag, kiddo.

Riot Blaustoise said on reddit a while back that he didn't want anyone to get a ban for chat, just increasingly severe chat restrictions. He's one of the only people left at Riot with a brain. A chat restrict was all I needed, but nope, Riot's gotta make me risk my entire account to grind 2 months of games and get back to honor 2 before season ends because I had one, ONE, bad judgment call. Incredibly unfair. Particularly when people are allowed to int, LITERALLY INT, for 50 games on Nunu, with evidence DIRECTLY SUBMITTED TO RIOT SUPPORT, who just says that it might be a bad string of games. NOBODY GOES 0/8 50 GAMES IN A ROW, RIOT!!! WAKE UP!

Maybe you should target people who make a habit of lashing out, Riot? Maybe one game isn't enough to destroy someone's account that they spent years building? Maybe ONE GAME should have a less stupid penalty for it? I'm not saying I don't deserve a punishment, cause I do even though I was provoked and goaded by a toxic player who lashed out at me for not carrying hard enough, I'm saying that the way things are done now is absolutely insane.

It makes me wonder why I would even bother interacting with this toxic ass community. Mute all every game, folks. Not worth the risk.

The only time you go straight to a 14 day ban is if you use hate speech slurs or calls to self harm. I don't think you need a warning to tell you that that kind of behavior is unacceptable, no matter what environment.

Which it still does. The only time you get straight to a 14 day or perma ban is if what you say is REALLY bad, ie, homophobic slurs, racial slurs, telling people to kill themselves, etc.

That...isn't slightly true. Wait, I'm confused, if you get punished easily now according to what you say...and they are insulting you, how would they magically dodge around the system?

Before I type I think for a second ... If the punishment isn't worth it ... I stay silent ... a few times though ... I decided it was definitely worth it. And told that player to kill themselves. So ... Think about it next time around. If it isn't worth it ... let it go.

But if it is worth it ... then let that shit fly and accept the punishment with pride. I have had to do that a few times.
