Account hacked and banned while not in use.

Hi everyone, I went to a league tournament the other day to play league (which i hadn't played till March), but i found that my account had been banned for scripting. I went into my league history and low and behold there are 6 games played about 2 weeks ago that i had never been apart of; the last of which was what I assume to be a scripted xerath game. What options are there for someone like me in this situation. I really don't want to lose hundreds of dollars worth of value in my 6 year old account...

Submit a support ticket and explain your situation. Ask support to look into account compromised. Does look like someone else was playing those ARAM games.

You should open a support ticket.

I know there's a process for account recovery - i'm sure someone more in the know can assist.

I keep seeing this story pop up more and more on the boards. Either youre all lying, or somebody has figured out some way to steal account data and is using it.

Are you familiar with Occam's Razor? It's the principle of simplicity - the solution with the least number of assumptions makes the most sense. In this case, someone he knows used his account (whether he allowed it or not) and did something shady.

Or perhaps this has always happened as frequently, but after seeing a few posts about it here, more and more people start thinking that this is the place to call for help, instead of going straight to Riot support.

Yes, but we were talking about what could have happened to his account, not the steps to take to fix it. Which, yes, the only step to take is to contact Riot.

I'm convinced it's family/friends testing out cheats on a buddy's account.

Pretty low thing to do. I'm sure there are plenty of cheaters/scripters who are getting nabbed/banned, but I'd wager a few are just folks who didn't properly secure their account.

Hopefully riot has a little mercy on th latter. 'Twould suck you lost your account due to oversight.

I've never had an account hacked/stolen, but it would blow nonetheless.
