Griefing:

  • If someone loads into lobby and insists on a lane they weren't assigned to, refusing to work it out amicably with the team even though they know it'll cause problems
  • If someone insists on a lane because it'll cause problems and they're trying to bother their teammates

Not griefing:

  • If two players can't figure out lane assignments before the match begins and end up laning together
  • If a player does something non-meta, works it out with their team, and the team ends up losing

Harassment:

  • If a player starts to bicker and argue in chat about lane assignments, non-meta play, etc.

forcing you to play something else is griefing and reportable logs exist the system tracks what you were assigned to

report and write the comment of what happened

but yes it is punishable and ive had instant feedbacks for people jacking others and my roles

ask like a proper human being tell them that you can't play your autofill role 95% of the time someone will swap with you the other 5% you should either pick something safe or dodge

They'd have to be doing it A LOT to get punished unless you have a riot friend. People can troll for a very long period of time before someone actually looks into their account and punishes them, and even then, they usually need multiple games. So if this was their first time doing this in a while... your report won't really do anything, but yeah put it under grief.

Lane call has been around since S1. Probably into Beta. Back then, there also wasn't normal draft. There was Blind pick, and there was Ranked. And no lane assignments or hovers. Pick order was also determined by Elo, so there were a lot of "I'm better than you, you take what's left" attitude, even though it was usually so close as to not matter.

People would call in ranked, but if you weren't first pick and someone else took that role, you were expected to suck it up and take something else.

I think normal drafts were added in S2. And it was 3 bans by first pick back then. I don't remember exactly when they switched from elo to random, but I think it wss shortly after adding normals.
