PSA: Wanting to surrender is NOT inherently "Giving Up" and is not reportable as such.

However, asking other players for reports IS reportable under "Harassment."

So, even if you don't want to ff, stop harassing players for wanting to surrender.

wanting to surrender is giving up. wanting to surrender is not a rulebreak. going "ff its lost" is tho. and yup i think 90% on the player behavior board know that asking to report is a rulebreak.

enemy destroyed all out inhibitors, they have 4 dragons, currently fighting elder dragon, no way for us to contest it, we destroyed 0 of their towers starts surrender vote ''ffs stop being so negative'' how about you wankers stop wasting my time, so much time wasted so often because people don't realize when a game is over...

i may be wrong, but the definition of surrendering is giving up so if you want to surrender then you are giving up and as such can be reported under that category. especially if you spam the surrender votes even when you know it's gonna fail every time.

Just as a clarification, I do want to post an older thread posted by a Rioter clarifying that asking for reports is not bannable.

Spotted a bit of confusion about whether or not we dish out penalties to players who ask for reports. Just to be super clear, we don't. If a player used asking for reports as a leaping off point for actual harassment, that's when we'd blow the whistle. When we think about updates to Instant Feedback, we think about solving problems that really distract you from what matters: Winning the game. And this issue just doesn't chart that high.

To give a bit more detail, we don't need to penalize for this because Instant Feedback is quite good at filtering out BS reports, and really only needs one to accurately decide whether or not penalties are warranted. If you're looking to make an impact on the community, the absolute best thing you can do is submit earnest, thorough reports when you see some shit you don't want in your game.

I logged in for the first time to boards to make a post about this. /ff vote SHOULD be a reportable offence in my book especially if you spam it just because you lost lane after trying to 1v1 your laner for 5 deaths. It is GIVING UP. You are assisting the enemy team by allowing them to instantly win. Thats 2 separate categories that are reportable. The only time I would accept a /ff vote is if one of your teamates or him and his duo are legit holding you hostage by running it down mid/ stealing camps away from jungler and making it harder to win ON PURPOSE.

In what context? Since it can change pretty quickly.

If someone is like "games over just ff" and says stuff like that multiple times yeah that should be reportable and that's clearly giving up.

Like saying it once is fine or just trying to surrender is fine but if you do it multiple times yeah you should get a punishment since you're just not helping and not trying at that point.

Especially in ranked where surrendering really should be the last option in a competitive game.

If you have two games and one team has a guy just saying its over that team is at a disadvantage vs the team without it.

i just get the sponge treatment for trying to ff, "this is winnable".

Depends entirely on when you want to surrender: when the enemy has 4 drakes to your 0, most of your Towers are gone, and then they secure both Elder and Baron, surrender calls there are fine; if it's because your team is 3 kills down at 10 mins then yeah, that surrender call is kinda pathetic...

Honestly, if you can't recognize that the game is basically unwinnable barring some act of God that causes half of their team to lose their internet, I don't trust you to recognize when a game IS winnable and how to take advantage of an enemy throw. Refusing to surrender under any circumstance is definitely trolling. But Riot doesn't ban people for inting unless Tyler1 does it on stream
