If you are being toxic in a game, it is NEVER anyone's fault but your own. Other players can be jerks, it's true! They can feed, they can insult you, they can do a lot of really nasty shit. One thing they cannot do, though, is make you press that enter key and respond with additional toxicity.

If you respond to negative behaviors in a league match, then 99.9% of the time you are being toxic yourself. Don't call people out. Don't insult them. Don't tell other players to report (this is technically calling the person out). Just stay quiet and wait for the post-game screen. File your report without telling anyone, and go on your way. That is, without exception, the only acceptable way to deal with other negative players in your game.

edit: I can see from the down votes that a lot of people don't want to take a step back and recognize their own toxic behaviors

And if you do it is a matter of time before we see you on here saying how unfair and how you didn't know this was a rule right ?

Guess again, saying or asking for reports are going to earn you a report and then it's up to Riot to determine that. But the real question is: Why do You feel the need to ask for reports in all chat ? Do you feel like your own personal opinion will not count ? You don't need more then 1 report for it to count.

Except for the fact that I have been playing since season 1, and have never had a chat restriction. 3 red ribbons 4 green ribbons and a blue ribbon for the border, all while speaking my opinion respectfully.

If you break the TOS - which calling for reports of other players is - you're putting your account in jeopardy. Those ribbons don't give you cred with Riot to break their rules just like a toxic player spending $2,000 in the Riot shop wouldn't.

I've never seen 1 person care about asking a troll to be reported, and every time it's a collective "Ok I'll report your troll if you help report our troll" each game.

So I'll keep doing what I do, which has never been punished. The majority of the community players I play with seem to agree with my play style as well if I am getting this many honors.

Again if you guys want to act so up tight about asking bad people to get removed from a good game, go for it.

Like I said before if I feel the person should be reported I will speak up about it once or twice then finish out my game, I don't ride all chat all game saying some one is the devil.

Personally I dislike any one using all chat to make or prove a point, the enemy team doesn't need your drama. I don't see the harm in 1 mention of the toxicity on your team and mentioning a report.

Just b/c you haven't witnessed something doesn't mean it doesn't occur. That's very naive.

If you read these boards for a day or two, you'll come across a plethora of threads of people complaining Riot disciplined their accounts and the reason is that they routinely called for reports against trolls/griefers in team/all chat.

I'm not uptight or losing sleep over this b/c I don't waste time begging 9 other people to report someone in a video game.

I've been reading the boards since before they migrated here, so I understand exactly what you meant. if it was meant to be for me to be banned then it would of happened, I won't bother making more than 1 account.

But it has not happened, and probably will not happen.

I am talking about in game actions, no one in game has said VIOLATION OF TOS VIOLATION OF TOS.

When it comes to the boards and people saying they've been banned I just assume they're doing more than what they are sharing, hiding toxicity with a blanket statement "false reports got me banned".

Usually they start their story with "ive been chat banned a few times before this" which leads me to think they're telling half the story.

Like I said I've never been chat restricted once, and if I was chat restricted because of mentioning a toxic player and to report him then I obviously would stop.

Which proves a point to me that mentioning in chat that some one is toxic and they should be reported is not the highest of priorities for riots ToS

Riot should be more concerned about all the bots leveling up accounts to be sold rather than people trying to play their game removing trolls.

well this is a problem thats not so easy. take youtube for example. if you report a bot it takes them a few hours to check and bann it. in those few hours the automated system already made 10 new bots.

The Toxic people around feel the need to degrade and TRY to embarrasses people into being as toxic as they ARE only to make themselves feel better.

Riot is going to get this under as much control as they can and I feel like it is the job of players that have the spine to speak up about this issue that will help this situation going into the future.

We can speak out again this and other situations and you my friend are helping!

I mention it in chat a few times but if I'm not on tilt it's usually very well mannered and includes no swearing. Just you reporting it is pointless, 1 report won't do anything

Do not believe this. Had a riven intentionally feed for 0/30 and the enemy team refused to report. I reported but no message telling me they got punished.

The white knights here will tell you otherwise, if you're respectful about mentioning it and only bring it up once I don't see any harm in mentioning toxicity.
