Riot, this pretty much PROVES leaverbuster doesn't work. Please do something.

League of Legends Match History

See the fizz on that team that lost? The little bugger literally went to mid, stood by turret, waited about a minute, then left the game and never once reconnected. We never got the option to remake, and were stuck playing a match that, although it was URF, was kind of difficult to enjoy when you KNOW THE OUTCOME ten to twenty minutes before the defeat screen. The only choice we had with any hope of at least being fun (which was to try and force a teamfight), the enemy team just bypassed via splitpushing (because in a 4v5 it's actually a competitively viable tactic). Thank god it was only a round of URF and not something like ranked, but still; I see garbage like this and wonder if it really wasn't intentional, it's just so conveniently timed to get around leaverbuster.

I don't even hold a grudge against the... not exactly correct teammate we had that claimed "we got this" and declined the early surrender vote (and the regular one later) despite us at best only being able to slow the other team down. Excessive optimism isn't a crime, but trolling like senior not at keyboard here? It should be.

All I'm asking for here RIOT is that you take a good hard look at leaverbuster, and how often it's not working (or even kicking in to trigger a remake when the system is still marking players as afk in post-game) to deter this kind of behavior. I understand you can't control people, but if you're going to claim you even HAVE a punishment system, the deterrents should at least be somewhat effective (which in leaverbuster's case, they clearly aren't since this guy literally just hung around long enough to avoid triggering it, then immediately afk'd anyway, rendering the "deterrent" null and void).

If that's too much, could we maybe at least get something that actually SHOWS people are pulling this less often? If you legitimately believe it is then show us what makes you think so, you must have SOMETHING. I can't stress enough that even in URF, a mostly just-for-fun mode, this is still unacceptable behavior (as in, I sincerely doubt anybody that sees rules like the summoner's code as anything other than a joke would consider this behavior acceptable).

Finally before all the "well maybe they just had to go" tropes start getting flung around, the afker literally left within seconds of leaverbuster ending it's watchtime. I'm also not saying this should be a "you did it once now you're banned forever" kind of thing. However we DO need more effective deterrents to this kind of behavior, and yes, sometimes that means you'll get burned when you got up and ran outta the room to go see your dying relative you just found out was in the hospital, but it's hardly the end of the world to trigger a remake/revert the changes that would occur to lp/mmr when it happens and give the afking account a queue restriction (where they'll be able to log in, but not queue up) for a certain amount of login time (and let's be realistic here, how many times in a week do YOU have a family emergency? I could see it happening 2 or 3 at MOST, and thats for people with family members in full-care because after that, the person is usually staying at the hospital for awhile and you'll have warning/be aware you need to leave ahead of time if you do need to go).

This isn't hate for afking (unless of course you consider there being consequences to poor decisions a type of hate), just a request to give a system that legitimately doesn't seem to be very effective some love/updates.

So...some guy AFKing in your game somehow proves it doesn't work....How, exactly?

leaverbuster DOES work. its just laughable. the hardest punishement is 5x20min low priority q. while yes thats almost 2 hours, it does not stop anyone from intentionally afking. noone.

Tbh, i don't even think you can /remake in URF. Just like I'm pretty sure you can't in ARAM
