Will poor performance being punishable next season with the ranked changes?

People soft int all the time in Ranked even when they get their preferred role and champion. Now, with people having different ELOs for all 5 roles, there seems to be a large incentive to troll when you get a position that isn't your main.

In the Dev post you said that "suspiciously poor gameplay" when people get something other than their main role will be severely punished. I'm personally just worried because of how the current IFS only punishes "toxic" chat logs. To get banned for inting you have to do it in a really obvious way and its super easy to intentionally lose a game without it being detected by the system.

I understand the reasoning behind wanting to shake up the LP and ranked system. A lot of a game comes down to which team has less autofilled teammates (however, I'd also argue that a lot of it also comes down to which team has more people playing their mains).

I'm sure that its all in the early development stages but it would be great if you guys could let us know what changes you are making to the report system to deter what could be a large rise in soft inting

I have good news for you! Players who perform below their MMRs skill level are already punished by the system adjusting their MMR to the proper level over the course of a few games.

More than likely here, you're considering things inting that are not inting because it makes you feel better. And this is exactly why I'm glad most players aren't in charge of punishment - they can't be objective about it. It looks like they played bad and the team lost so it must be inting.

If you mean to ask if they'll be banned for being bad at the game, then no, because you'd likely be banned too looking at your recent match history.

Everyone will have 5 MMRs next season. If you are an adc main next season and get autofilled jungle, you can go disco nunu and it will have no impact on your LP or MMR for adc.

Knowing that people would worry about this, Riot specifically, but vaguely, addressed that they would come up with a way for punishing players performing suspiciously poorly in their off roles. Did you read that Dev corner post? Maybe I misunderstood it but it seemed pretty explicit to me that they are planning on adjusting the punishment system

but what is suspiciously poor? I have horrible records on Twitch bot lane and Azir bot lane, the only difference is one is meta and the other is not.
