This is a major misconception people have, and Riot could do better with communicating how this exactly works, but for future reference...

Only appears if your report was the last report that led to the being dropped. The straw that broke the camel's back, in other words.

Many, many rioters are on record as saying every report counts. They do - keep in mind that a frankly absurd number of people play this game, so chances are pretty low of your report being the last one.

The system works - just look how many people come in here to complain about their chat bans.

Thanks (seriously, personally, from me) for helping keep the Rift clean.

It would be good to know if I got that the play has been banned because of my report last or not, but oh well.

I hope that's on their radar. Something I keep reading lots of angst on is the feeling that reports don't do anything. As it stands, you kind of have to take it on faith and/or be lucky enough to be the final report against someone.

"Every report counts" Nope - I'd guesstimate about 2% of reports count, because the other 98% of reports are:

"/all: wtf this noob went 0/4 pls report" "omg fiddlesticks supp ff @20 and report dis troll" "u shit stain %%% idgaf if u report me cuz ill report ur ass 2" "/all omfg noob team wont ff pls report for wasting my time" "/all pls report noob jg never ganks" "/all pls report noob supp no sightstone" "wtf was that ult ur reported!!!!" "reported wtf is that cs" "omg reported ur laner is 8/1" "u retard y didnt u smite dragon reportedddd!!!" "omg y u didnt give me blue buff reeeppppoortttt" "report dumass supp no peel" "ffs y u take that wave i ping i want it kys and reported" "no followup ur all reported" "/all cant carry these morons pls report" "i politely told this scrub to ban jax but he banned morg instead. pls do the community a favor and report. <3"

Also, I am tired of these threads where people brag about all of the people they report. It reminds me of those people back in school who would get excited to go and tattle to the teacher... "Mr. Smith, you'll never believe what John just said..." Do you really want to be that kind of person?

It's funny you say that, because every one of those things are, themselves, reportable. It's negative, unsportsmanlike garbage that serves no purpose but to tilt other players.

I'd be willing to bet that most people who brag about how they're gonna report someone never actually follow through with it. Of those that do, they're reporting for things that don't actually break the rules, which means their bogus reports carry no weight.

Also, I am tired of these threads where people brag about all of the people they report. It reminds me of those people back in school who would get excited to go and tattle to the teacher... "Mr. Smith, you'll never believe what John just said..." Do you really want to be that kind of person?

We can talk about tattling once I stop running into nasty chat in the Rift. I want to be the kind of person that helps take out the trash.

Let's hope so, I'm reporting like crazy, every game almost...

...I've made so many reports that I'm putting it on my resume, hidden in some obscure corporate gibberish, such as 'independent behavioral analysis and report generation for leading multiplayer strategy game'

Riot should just hire me to teach them how to spot these trolls.

Some very simple behavioral characteristics, chat logs, and other items make it super obvious from champ select most of the time. Why can't these Riot scientists create some algorithms around that?

Too bad Riot barely punishes people =/ I checked peoples accounts for 2 weeks after reporting for really messed up things (int feeding, ragequit, death threats, racial slurs) and none of them were punished. Kept playing until 30 days when I stopped watching them.
