im convinced people treat you poorly based on the character you play

so an obvious start to this thread is something everyone should be familiar with

whenever i play this character during certain patch cycles or seasons i get only 2 reactions (these are reactions from my team)

"ezreal is trash and does no damage don't pick him" or dead silence because hes currently meta due to some item or rune that breaks his kit.

when im fighting the enemy team? i either get 1 of 2 response "fucking noob you're trash, you did a cheese pick" during a time when ezreal is considered a good pick .or dead silence because they got destroyed by a character they think is trash

Is it bothersome? yes, does it effect my gameplay? no. Can it effect certain characters? you better believe it.

Lets say i play a character like you want to know how people treat me?

flamed by the enemy team because everybody thinks hes absolutely busted, my lane is constantly camped, teammates will call you trash if you arent 1v5ing and pulling off faker level plays. Its a god damn mess. Certain champions are just 100% unplayable due to the attitude of players and its really annoying.

Well.. I have to admit that I hate having Ezreals on my team. 90% of them don't know how to play and just sit back spamming Qs and forget they have to autoattack.

Sometimes the treatment exists for a good reason. 99% of Veigar "support" picks are jackasses who were autofilled and play selfish.

I think a lot of the Ezreal hate is the perception of Ez mains always finding a way to exploit something every season, leading to item deletes, mastery/rune major changes, etc...

I play both those champs and never get flamed. I play meta champ and non meta champs and dont get flamed. Its how you play them and how you build them that'll make or break the reaction you get

Sounds like you have no idea what you're doing if you're blaming their performance on what people say, especially if you claim people are camping your zed lane and getting smashed

yep, sounds similar to Karthus , in particular when I decide to take him into the Jungle. (It works, you just need to actually know what you're doing lol)

Either A: I get a reaction from a possible Veteran going "Whoa, JG Karthus, Nice throwback dude :) " to people literally banning him in ban phase simply because they don't want a JG Karthus on their team or they think I'm trolling. This is why I have to wait until AFTER ban phase to show I'm going to lock in Karthus lol.

I know you said it doesn't affect your gameplay, but if it's bothering you to the point where certain champs are "100% unplayable" I think it's about time you start utilizing that mute button when you play those champs. Just try it. I know it's hard, something in me stops me from muting too. But maybe just when you play those champs, mute all.

There is definitely truth to this. Ask any Zed, Yasuo, Teemo, or Fizz main how people view them. Many champions have stereotypes associated with them. For example, I frequently see Lee Sin or Shaco players with low mastery scores be flamed or treated with doubt because they are widely seen as high skill cap champions (What's the old joke? Your Shaco versus THEIR Shaco?). Conversely I often see tank players treated with scorn because they are perceived as low skill.

as a Quinn main, people don't have any expectations when I lock in a champ noone plays. That's how I usually get all the honors Quinn

people are calling me out for maining kindred lol they told me that they are only here to feed or they are utterly trash and so on. If im doing good but a lane doesnt they just give me the fault while everyone agrees with the flamer lol. Its not always like that, but it happened quite often. item 3070

Actually while it dosent happen all the time, the champ you play does have a small impact on toxicity. For example, braindead champs like pantheon or fizz are infuriating to play against, so its just natural dislike over everything else.

As a Riven / Leblanc Player. This is 100% correct lmao If not even close to as good as "Viper, Adrian, Box Box." its impossible to work with teams that simply hate the champ(Assuming my team is toxic about the Riven pick)

try playing mostly teemo top . you´re lucky if you are even acknowledged by your team or get a single gank and every death will be accompanied by questionmark pings or "pls report teemo" at end of game.

Just recently i had to dodge a game because lobby already got toxic after they banned our own Yasuo with the reason "I want to win".

I experience this a lot with Yasuo, if I'm doing poorly I get flamed by my team, if I'm doing well the enemy team flames me for playing a "braindead op champ" [slayer-jinx-unamused]

oh believe me, they do if you pick Aatrox your team will ignore you if you're doing good and judge you EXTRA hard when you make a mistake When you do good you get nothing When you make a simple mistake "Aatrox such a useless champion" "wow troll pick" Literally I get "are you trolling?" in pre game if I pick aatrox.....

When I play riven I have people like garen or darius spamming all chat saying riven is skill-less and that im abusing an op champion as they outscale, have more utility, and build for tank
