People need to be explained how to play each position

When you see kids playing sports in high school or pros on TV, they all at some point were basically sat down (not literally, but over time) and explained by older, or more experienced players or coaches how different positions are played in order to win.

In league, players just show up. Riot doesn't give them any base line of knowledge.

Things such as "we know its tempting to build more AP items as a support, but over the long run vision produces more wins. Wards kill enemy champions, and you need not be so worried about your damage output as you should be with keeping your marksman alive, which includes making sure he or she doens't walk into a blind jungle and get picked off.

This should be done in tutorial vidoes so people actually watch them.

Honestly, I think it should be mandatory. No one shows up on a sports field with no basic concepts of the game ready to have other players pit their standing and rank off of how good this player does.

Its fucking absurd. Educate the god damn players Riot.

You are talking about a player base that is full of kids (yes, kids) who would be lazy to do their homework, let alone take the time to do research or read/watch guides on how to play the game properly. That is a lot to ask. But hey, some players put in the effort to learn and improve. Kudos to them.

Uh, yeah, because they're playing competitively. Big difference.

new league players are like real kids learning the sport, learning how the kick the ball, learning that kicking it into the goal scores you a point, learning that only the goalie can use their hands within the penalty box.

Pretty much just the basics rules when you play the sport against your classmates in elementary school. You may get put in a position of FW / MF / DF / GL, but you aren't really given an in-depth role explaination.

Notice how when an adult is playing against a bunch of 8 years old, all the kids are just trying to kick the ball randomly, hoping they can steal it off you? League is very much the same in that regards.

If people are really looking to improve their skills, they can look at some videos and learn their plays there. They can also learn from just watching pro matches. They can also get a coach and join a competitive team for youth.

Its not Riot's job to teach players how to play, players are responsible to look for a method of improvement themselves, should they want to improve that is.

Plus, who the hell wants to confine to a certain META? Just because you are in DF, doesn't mean you can't assist in the offense.
