Riot, banning for Lolwiz is a joke

That you ban accounts for using Lolwiz is pathetic. I officially got confirmed today that Lolwiz is not allowed and my suspension won't be lifted. Welp, you lost a paying customer. A customer with 4000 hours and over 1,000 dollars spent on this game. I won't use another account and I won't give you another dime of my money. I have been using Lolwiz for MONTHS only to be banned .

Consider not banning people for this as its a joke really. The information Lolwiz gives you is readily available on sites like op gg and you know it. This is just a pathetic excuse to force someone to lose everything they paid for and worked for so they grind o make another. Wel I'm not going to. Maybe others will but I won't.

I just wanted to point out that being this strict with a perma ban is ridiculous. No warning for something a benign as lol wiz is awful. Between this and solo queue I'm finding a new way to spend my time. Cya

I can assure you that nobody is supposed to be banned for using LoLWiz.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to chime in, since someone asked about our thoughts on this. LoLWiz, in it's current incarnation, is no different from visiting OP.GG or LolNexus or any other similar site. The only real difference is that it is displayed via an Overwolf Plugin, rather than a web page. It's powered by the Riot API, and no questionable access the game client, so as of right now we have no issues with using this app and will not frown upon players who do so.

That being said, we reserve the right to change our stance on this, if in the future the LoLWiz app adopts any functionality we find to be harmful to player's experience or the game's ecosystem. (Though if that happened we would first attempt reach out to LoLWiz and try to course correct things there, instead of banning players.) Also, naturally, we can never officially condone or promote the use of any third party tool, as we can never guarantee your game stability or safety in doing so.

TL;DR - It's not directly affecting the client, as it is a component of Overwolf and not a game-mod, so you won't be banned.

Did Riot Support specifically mention LoLWiz as the reason for your suspension?

When you say that they confirmed it, do you mean they actually said that was the reason for your ban? Or is that just something you deduced?

Yeah, they don't care. Riot already got your money. They're chasing after new players now. Old vets who played when Riot was growing and made them big don't really matter to them anymore.

Riot customer service is a joke because, riot doesn't care about its customers. If you are not a Master tier + streamer or LCS players they do not care about you at all, plain and simple. Sorry this happened to you man.

How do you know you were banned for LOLWiz? I was pretty sure LOLWiz was an acceptable 3rd party program, such as Championify.
