Do people not realize the main root of toxic players in this game?

McFatal·2/16/2017, 3:47:26 AM·12 votes·2,589 views

a majority of the toxicity in this game stems from the game itself.

no one comes into league thinking "fuck my jungler and fuck my team" level 1.

it stems from the games where you're completely trapped for 40 minutes in your diamond promos with an intent feeder who has 20 deaths 15 minutes in KNOWING you cant just leave the game and go take a breather but rather have to be farming or much less defending a 100 percent guaranteed loss.

why would u ever think that someone will play a game after that smiling his way through it?

at the end of the day its a video game and riot makes it feel like a job.

if im in promos and im given a sure loss with 2 afks or a intent feeder, i SHOULD get to see them get banned 5 minutes after the game ends rather than me getting a chat restriction because i called them worthless cockroaches.

if i go into a game and within 10 minutes of it my jungle and mid have started threatening to afk and started trolling, i should get to feel like my loss didnt go directly into the drain.

ranked is a hellhole right now.

with all the afks trolls and intent feeders AND how the game is so one sided now, there is no chance of coming back frmo a 4v5 or 3v5.

the toxicity in this game stems from the game itself.

you can tell me "just move on"

but when you get 2 intent feeders in 2 games of your promos to an elo youve desperately been trying to get to for months, you feel like utter shit.

no amount of "chilling" will remove the fact that you were handed an unlucky team with 1-2 players who wanted to make sure u lost while the enemy team was given the set of 5 players looking to win.

it feels even worse knowing that if you type to an intent feeder once you're at a much larger risk of getting punished than he is.

the community has grouped up and started a witch hunt against toxicity forgetting what the word even means.

ive never told anyone to kill themselves get cancer or for their family to die much less threaten anyone.

you know what i do? i call people trash if they go 2-13. i ping missing on their bodies after they get caught for the 6th time.

i tell them to shut the fuck up and stop typing if they ramble on and on in the game.

do i deserve the same punishment as the same guy doing the worst of the worst?

learn the definition of toxicity before you spout it everywhere.

  • Do you also complain about your easy win when there is a troll or int feeder on the enemy team? Because here you're dead-set on the idea that trolls only appear on your team to drag you down, which let's be real, it doesn't work like that.
  • Do you seriously think smearing your negative frustration on the face of your teammate is actually gonna solve the problem for yourself?
  • Do you think being toxic is entirely to blame on the media being consumed instead of the player's own conscious choice to be and do toxic?

Really, this is not any title specific problem, almost every massively popular competitive game is like this, and it's not going away anytime soon. Why? There is no way a game company can force people sit down, play games and not act like an asshole, you know it's simply impossible, that's why report and other similar alternatives are the best we can get in the foreseeable future.

Toxic is toxic, there is no justification for you acting like a hurt butt. The game doesn't hold you at gunpoint and force you to type and behave like a thug, you chose to do it just because you aren't feeling particularly high on happy brain morphine (endorphin).

I can understand this happening in bronze but how do these players survive then ? How long can they keep falling off the ladder and still stay that high up, and how did they manage to get that far up in the first place ?

It's the poor matchmaking system.

What you think SHOULD happen is irrelevant. Read the rules, follow them. And of course people realize why people are toxic. You must be new to the boards, since I've read your captive audience theory many times in many different ways but you seem to think no one has figured this out.

If achieving your goals is causing you so much anger, I think maybe it's a personal issue. I made a goal to get to Gold last season and fell short, unable to promote from silver 1. I didn't feel like utter shit... I felt like oh well it's just a game. Lol. Maybe mentally, you're putting too much weight on your rank. It seems like it's starting to wear on you, so I wish I could help you to not be so desperate to achieve your ranked goals. But I am no psychologist so good luck to you and please keep in mind, it's just a game. It's for fun. If you're not having fun, you should maybe stop playing or admit to yourself you're addicted and try fixing that. Unlike me, I'm addicted and I will continue to be an addict cuz this shit is just too fun.

People play ranked because apparently rank determines skill (not sure why, as I learned how to play the majority of my "off-meta" stuff in norms with more open minded people). When people don't get their way in ranked, I like to think it's kinda a double-whammy of sorts as not only do you apparently look "unskilled" (again, I don't get that logic) but depending on the size of the person's ego they'll almost always assume that it isn't their fault (even if they go 0-15-0 with zero wards and like 500 total damage to enemies).

To suggest ranked is "hell" is a bit of an understatement, especially if you're like me and play the majority of your games solo. Flex-queue is almost unplayable as you'll often get stuck with players who are either far too new or far too stupid (often taking "First time" characters with the hopes that someone skilled will carry them out of it), with random reports/honors showing how ridiculously flawed the system is (teams honoring other team's feeders and reporting teammates for stupid stuff like stealing cs in lane). Solo queue, albeit slightly better, suffers from some of the same flaws only that there's the added bonus of almost hate-crime levels of toxicity, with people shedding all blame off themselves and telling others to "kill themselves" like it's some sort of cool saying nowadays ("Hey bruh, sup, kill yourself?"). If rito's playerbase somehow takes a nosedive, ranked will probably be the main culprit for it especially since the majority of their playerbase is located in bronze/silver (the "toxic tiers" ).

Ultimately, this game will consistently "feel" like a job for people because to others, it is. Much like how people play football/baseball/basketball to emulate their favorite athletes, people will do the same as long as the LCS exists. People will watch the LCS, see their favorite players play something, try it/first time it in solo queue with zero understanding of the mechanics, only to blame their teammates before watching the LCS again for new ideas. Wash, rinse, dry, dirty, repeat.

People are toxic because they either cannot or will not control their behavior. It really is just as simple as that.

How did you let it go that bad in the first place?

Obviously something happened between lvl1 and those 15mins.

So it is the game's fault? So like... Does the PC turn itself on, climb up into your lap, and start a league game on your account to force you to play it?

your 100% right ranked>trolls should be the method but its not the case its trolls>ranked players who care cuz its just a game
