Stop asking "Did I deserve this?"

We're not the ones deciding, nor are you. If you got the punishment in the first place, it is almost a 100% chance that you deserved it. That's the whole reason you got it in the first place.

The chance of error in the system when it was first developed was 1/6000. Not that many people needed a punishment in the first place either, because believe it or not, most of League is actually sensible enough to keep their mouth shut at the right times.

By now, the chance of error is undoubtedly far lower. If you honestly think there was an error, then feel free to send a support ticket.

But the vast majority of the time, there's always a reason, even if you don't think it's valid or it was a while ago or it was something small in your opinion or whatever else.

I don't think OP is stating that people shouldn't ask why they were banned. I think he's saying it's frustrating to see the countless threads of people trying to "appeal" their ban on the boards. Or saying they were wrongly banned.

I'm all for people asking for advice and answer questions, but those posts are very few and far in between the constant threads of people saying they didn't deserve the ban and that they should be unbanned blahblahblah. You get my drift.

Yes this is true. Also especially because riot bases what's allowed and what's not, on what the community thinks. Their whole stance on toxicity is based on the community's opinion on it.

I must add that Riot's stance has been to my knowledge based mostly on players opinions as it should, with limits that Riot sets and learns from. I've been in a few of the discussions on this board from years ago.

I have limited time, yet I am intrigued by people in general This is why I like when you or anyone voices their opinions! Thanks

Thanks and I do agree about some of the posts ur talking about. A lot of them are people who are just flat out deserving of a ban for obvious reasons. Like they're just in denial about their behavior. I hear ya.

What I find disturbing about all the:

Is that if you have to ask and then ignore advice and argue, then most likely YES You deserved it !

You know nep2une, I do get it and what your saying ! I feel like we should attempt to talk to Threads like this. If not for the sake of the person posting it, definitely for the next person who reads...It is an endless thing to do I admit ! --Sorry, if I phrased it wrong or got your meaning the wrong way. I get it an agree with you :)

Its really a shame too since some of those players are plat or above. In order to get that high you need to have a solid understanding of your own champ and their limitations but yet they don't have that level of introspection for themselves.

Agreed.

Though if the players wants the boards to help them understand why they got banned, or to get advice on how not to act that way, then I'm all for them posting.

But yeah, unfortunately all we usually see is people posting thinking they can appeal their ban on the boards :/ or thinking they didn't deserve the ban, when every case I've seen on the boards has always ended in the ban being justified.

If only... /sigh

Players have every right to ask for information here. Some do learn, not all threads here are of the bitching kind....Although I agree in part with both of you. Yes, it gets annoying to see things get twisted!

So, while the message may not get threw to the individual who asks the question...THE answers are seen by countless people looking at this board for answers. Those people who lurk or just check in to see what is right or wrong.

It's very important to have this section and to allow people to piss and moan, I just want all of you to remember outside people look here for advice. Most don't post they just look.

They Look for advice on how to play and not to get in trouble! And some look to see how far they can push it to the limit w/o getting in trouble...Please consider this :) THanks

The issue becomes with the threads that aren't actually trying to get information or ask questions. I don't think anyone is upset at people posting here looking for answers or wanting advice. Especially since it does help the lurkers like you said.

The issue becomes when the people who piss and moan on the boards already know why they were banned, or refuse to listen/take advice given to them.

Most of the time people tell them to contact Riot via support to get more information on their ban since no one on the boards has access to that. All the people on the boards have to work with is what they tell us, which in most cases isn't everything that happened.

That's the real issue. The players who were banned that post on here with nothing but toxic remarks towards others and Riot. And the players who refuse to listen and instead insult the ones trying to help. I've had it happen plenty of times to me when trying to help and give advice. It sucks but those kind of posts aren't really needed here in PBM. If you're upset about your ban, sure, post away. But nothing that person does or says will change the fact that they got banned. And that's what people don't understand when they post about their ban here.

That's what OP is talking about :P Those who think complaining on the boards will get their ban lifted.

I agree!!! I get frustrated also !! Just wanted above point to be made...No hard feelings about this. I just want all to remember how many watch this board for guidance and believe me I wanted to put up the same Thread as >nep2une many times in other words...

EDIT: I usually use quote and chrono view as that is what I was used to.

I have seen a few bans lifted, most just get rebanned ( is that even a word?) haha...But, I have seen players post nicely and directly to Riot and found later that the ban was lifted. Some I have friend-ed on League for a min. and some I've just noticed.

Guess the point I'm really trying to get across is that -- Yes, It does annoy me when someone constantly contributes bad attitudes or wrong information. So I'm all about agreeing with this thread.

I was going to say a few things I should just leave off the boards. :) But. Please, everyone be aware that what you say in a positive way may get you down-votes ( who cares) but in a few cases it can make a difference. :) :) No one I'm currently talking to need take offence ;)

We both know that is false. Don't believe me? Well Here are two examples of gameplay trolls being banned. Yes it's just two examples, but it proves that they do get punished. Stop trying to spread false information about how the system works.

You missed the point. The point is that trolls of any kind do indeed get punished. They can try to switch it up all they want it doesn't matter, if enough people report them for it then the system and/or Riot will eventually catch on and punish them accordingly.

100 million accounts according to riot....so 16,667 "mistakes" assuming you believe that 1 in 6000 bs. Thats alot of innocent players being punished.

And then you realize that it's far less than 1/6000 now, and the 1/6000 figure wasn't as in they didn't deserve it, it meant it was the wrong tier of punishment. AKA, permaban vs 14-day, 14-day vs 25-game chatban, etc.
