Look at this board

Look at this board, look how many people are complaining about he banning and punishment system? It's flawed. It sucks. We all hate it. The ones that don't hate it sre the ones who haven't experienced it yet. I for one, did not have any for a long time. Punishment free. then, all the sudden i got one. Then it was like riot was trying to punish me as it escalated. Anything i did, anything at all, even a small thing, would get me punished, even if it was less toxic than i have been in the past. This system is bs. It shouldn't look at your past to define you, it should look at the game you are in and give out a punishment. Now I'm not saying the punishments shouldn't increase, but the fact that once you get ONE it makes it 10x easier to get another is absolutely not how it should work. As i said before, i had been more toxic in the past and not gotten a punishment then when i had been less toxic and had gotten a punishment after the first. So many people are complaining about this it's insane. Online people talk about league and overwatch being some of the worst when it comes to punishment systems. And now i understand why. My friend plays overwatch, he understands that part, and i play league, and being perm banned due from this i now know how horrid it is as well. Honestly riot, it's a game, people get upset sometimes. That doesn't mean we have to mute all every game. If we did that, then why the heck is there a chat in the first place? We are human. We aren't god, we all mess up, we all feed, we all rage. Even if it is only occasionally. You need to make it not as strict and better at finding folks who ARE toxic and not people who are occassionally having a bad day or game. Like me. I'm not a toxic guy, i want riot to improve here, so I'm just saying, this is upsetting a lot of people, and with he amount of "perm ban" titles i see on this boards, i highly bet your "0.006%" of players is a lie. Now i do recognize that we deserve punishment, but a lot of us haven't done anything worth a perm. A perm in most games are for only the most serious offenses or problems. Take tyler one for example. He used to be extremely toxic, so he was banned permanently. Many of us aren't even as toxic as he was by a long shot and yet we also get a perm ban? And many pros and all get their bans undone while the less toxic community is just stuck with a perm. It's unfair.

This is a statistical failure. The boards are a very minor slice of the community. In addition, people are sent here to ask about their ban. It is not a representative sample.

I like the fact that Riot is one of the few companies in the world that value their product over profits.

I find it absolutely intriguing too that they hire Psychologists to make the game more enjoyable for all, and keep the game competitive and fun instead of the inevitable dumpsterfire that would happen if players like you were in charge.

The chat is for team communication, and light jokes (IE nice skin, I love tacos, brb im eating tacos, boy I wish they had a taco skin, etc.)

Are you considering the amount of people who play the game? While I can't confirm the number the Riot gives, you can't disprove it either. If we really low ball Riot's active player-base to 10 mil, 0.006% of that is still 600 people. I think over an entire YEAR I've seen maybe half that go through these boards. And several times many of the players who come to argue against their perma-banned are repeat offenders on a new account.

People complaining about the system when they get banned is going to happen no matter how lenient you argue the system should be, and if you make it too lenient it defeats the purpose of the ladder punishment in the first place. To encourage players that wont control their behavior despite several warnings out of the game.

When the only people complaining are those who have been punished, and the community as a whole isn't complaining, or if they are they're complaining it should be harsher, that's a sign the system is working, not the other way around.

What pros and big names have had a rightfully placed permaban undone? Be mindful there is a difference between a permaban and an ID ban.
